Is it that hard to try to find peace and goodwill within yourself and community without religious structure?
Why do you care, it’s a personal road. If religion does make it easier for people to find peace within why would that be a bad thing?

Not an antagonizing question. Just asking as a general question since I've seen the difference online between 2012 atheism and 2023 with religious meme accounts popping up.

And like I said I don’t think it’s a question that can be answered in a general sense, because everybody’s path is so different. Even within religious communities itself
no, there’s more Reddit atheists than seemingly ever nowadays lol
that Neo-Atheism movement with Dawkins, Harris and whoever else was disastrous for any serious modern philosophical discussions relating to religion and theology, most of their critiques are still used to this day and it’s insane

honestly i don’t want to live in a place devoid of religion. im not a muslim but being in istanbul i felt really safe and i think it’s bc its a lot of people that subconsciously know they have to speak to allah at some point and they even put up a church there recently. miami i didn’t see any places of worship and people go absolutely crazy there. idk i feel like regardless on how you feel about religion its better if people know they have a higher power they have to answer to
Andrew Tate opened a lot of men eyes towards Islam.
Win - Win situation as a man It's hard to argue against men having multiple wives and more rights in general
We in the spiritual revolution. People feel compelled to connect with something higher than themselves. Through what means is up to each person.
All praise to the most high always.
Is it that hard to try to find peace and goodwill within yourself and community without religious structure?
Yes because of what is around us that we are brought up in. Nihilistic lifestyle, worship of celebrity/money, drink/drug culture. We need a helping hand as these things can be very overwhelming and consuming.
It’s all cope in the end but I’d rather be religious than not
Powerful.
I have not noticed but good for them. Although I’m not religious myself I can understand and respect the want to believe in something as long as they don’t take it too the extreme or anything
Is it that hard to try to find peace and goodwill within yourself and community without religious structure?
I mean that process is hard yeah lmao
I think religion can act as a shortcut and I have my own thoughts about that but I can’t knock anyone for going that route especially if its all they’ve known
Is it that hard to try to find peace and goodwill within yourself and community without religious structure?
yeah but religion is the default and most promoted path to go down. especially when it’s ingrained in many other institutions. Philosophy is hard to grasp for many cause they feel as if it’s too intellectual when in reality you have to find out what gives YOU meaning and take in different perspectives. Letting power structures tell you what to do is robbing people of humanity
North America is gonna turn into a religious state at some point in the future and mfs are not gonna be ready for it
Is it that hard to try to find peace and goodwill within yourself and community without religious structure?
It’s not, but it takes more work which is why most people take the easy route and follow a religion like Christianity because it’s more worship and less inner work

Hope you’re joking about the multiple wives thing. For one it’s not a good reason to turn to God. Secondly its not like Islam just says “yeah go and have multiple wives”. You have to give the same effort to each wife and I feel like people unjustly point that out as a “fun benefit” of Islam while in reality it’s very difficult and not many people live that way
Gon’ always have a problem seeing my people revert to the religion our ancestors were literally forced into practicing. (Argue with yo mama and history about that, not me.)
Like….Ifa is right there man #ogun
internet culture is inherently contrarian. Even it being commodified, its still is.
I remember back then, just being an Atheist was considered rebellious or contrarian.
As years go by, its become the opposite.
Hipster culture, I hate it.

People love religion til church and government become one again A lot of repubs trying to do that
Is it that hard to try to find peace and goodwill within yourself and community without religious structure?
for me, yea actually
having a foundation in Islam really helped with my drinking/drug problem, even if I were to relapse just knowing I have somewhere to turn to for support is f***in lit
