I finished the Sopranos a few weeks ago and BB is very close in terms of quality.
Sopranos had way more annoying characters and sometimes it felt like they redid a few arcs early on.
No, it was a very entertaining show. It just lacks the nuisance and character development a truly timeless show like The Sopranos has.
At the end of the day it’s still a genre show. It’s not like a Tarkovsky movie or whatever.

on my first watch of sopranos & i agree, almost through with season 5. loved breaking bad during its original run & still enjoy it but sopranos def comes across as a show that I’ll enjoy more with age.
breaking bad was hype back when i was younger but now i’m older i prefer most of the subtler character stuff/performances that sopranos has going on

Yeah you're exactly right. Breaking Bad has more cliffhanger "holy s***" action moments whereas the Sopranos has more substance and is more of a character study.
Who would you say is your favorite character, or most entertaining, rn in The Sopranos besides Tony? That boy Chris is always a riot lmao
Season 4 was so good. The Nazis and Lydia just not it. Of course terrible too fsr
Nah i think Better Call Saul is. Not a bad show but Imo it hasn't reached anywhere near the heights of breaking bad or Sopranos.
there’s the wire and breaking bad, and then everything else is way below
You sound like a person who hasn’t watched The Leftovers yet
Are people who say BCS is better lying to themselves?
I know it’s rude and a lil egotistical of me, to call you all liars… but, really?
Also, Fly is my favorite episode of BB.
I love a good bottle episode, and the best part of the show was the electric chemistry between Walt and Jessie.
Mad Men and Fargo (S1 and S2) better series too
That show really had Signal 30 and Far Away Places back to back.
Season 5 was crazy GOATed.
it's funny cause this is how I feel about The Sopranos. to be fair I only watched it for the first time a year or two ago, so maybe it just didn't age that well, but I thought it was pretty overrated.
From episode to episode it felt like almost nothing came with consequences. A major character was raped and it only came back up once in passing a couple seasons later
Breaking Bad was amazing. The "I'm the one who knocks" line was just as intense as its reputation says it is for me
I did not feel this way at all. I did think The Sopranos was kinda overrated for its status though
