At the end of the day it’s still a genre show. It’s not like a Tarkovsky movie or whatever.
BVS >> Ivan's Childhood
I was losing interest towards the end season 4. Then had no motivation to carry it on as I just feel it's no where near as good as people made it out to be.
It's not even In the same stratosphere as The Sopranos which people try to claim it to be.
So you didn’t finish the show
And you’re giving us your a***ysis.
Yeah you're exactly right. Breaking Bad has more cliffhanger "holy s***" action moments whereas the Sopranos has more substance and is more of a character study.
Who would you say is your favorite character, or most entertaining, rn in The Sopranos besides Tony? That boy Chris is always a riot lmao
ahh there’re too many good characters to choose from, chris is definitely great tho. i like artie bucco, he’s def the most likeable one out of the group.
bobby and jr soprano are definitely up there too, i liked their scenes together but they’re rly great on their own too
richie aprile & ralphie were good ones to watch too
This show is the best thriller show ever
and Sopranos is on the same level. The scene where Tony passes out from seeing Uncle Ben rice is the funniest s\*\*\* ever
Ozark better? In what world?
Ozark better? In what world?
Op hit the keyboard with crack residue still on his fingertips
It's not sopranos tier but it was still great
Season 4 gus is sopranos tier
The mind games were Hyman Roth/Michael level imo
Op hit the keyboard with crack residue still on his fingertips
Only possible explanation
I'm not saying BB is equal to Sopranos because it takes influence from it. BB is even better than Sopranos imo and that's because it has a more interesting main character who you see the transformation of, more action and it actually has a solid ending where it feels like everything concludes for most characters rather than an ambiguous cut to black and roll credits that everyone overrates tf out of
Post an episode that you feel encompasses the show better and I can post an episode of BB with more action. That's the point I was making - even one of the most beloved episodes has nothing happening in it BB has the Fly but also has episodes where niggas are d***ging the cartel, heisting a train, being blown up. It's got a better balance than watching Tony obsess over geese and Meadow's taste in men
Yikes everything got even worse after your take on the final
Lol I'm watching Soprano's right now and have to echo something that someone else said. Nothing happened in Season 1 and 2 of Soprano's. I love it but if we're being honest, absolutely nothing happened. I mean the big bad villain of season 1 was his own mother lol.
In season 2 it's the same story, the entire season was a build up to P****'s death. Oh he hallucinated a beautiful Italian woman who represents his mom/fantasy woman? Oh that one guy went into debt and they had to steal his sports gear? Christopher got shot, yeah that was something, but it was by absolutely nobody characters with no impact on the overall story, that was an absolute safe shooting.
Even Richie's death didn't hit as hard because by that point he wasn't a threat and had just become a minor annoyance to Tony as opposed to the big bad threat he appeared to be when the season started.
I haven't watched season 3 yet, I will eventually, but if your criticism of Breaking Bad is that nothing happens, then please, I beg of you, tell me, what happens in the first 2 seasons of Soprano's?
Character driven shows > plot driven shows
Character driven shows > plot driven shows
As someone who loves Succession and Mad Men, I agree. But Sopranos just doesn't have interesting enough characters for me

Damn
IMO there are alot of interesting characters
Tony, Christopher, Junior, Carmella, Meadow, Anthony, Bobby, Janice etc.
All of them are flawed and multi layered. Goddamn could watch this show forever
Introducing Nazis as main villain and Lydia after Gus a mistake
Finally someone else said this
Introducing the Nazis was the worst thing that could happen to BB.
Shouldve just been about WW, Hank and Jesse
No, it was a very entertaining show. It just lacks the nuisance and character development a truly timeless show like The Sopranos has.
RT
It started to do some ridiculous stuff because of its succes
I always saw breaking bad as kind of a comic book movie because of the larger-than-life characters (Tuco, Saul, Gus, endgame Walter) and crazy s*** that happens. Youd be better off comparing it to another thriller
Character driven shows > plot driven shows
Agreed fam. Didn't mean to go in on Soprano's like that but, yeah, agreed.

Nazis- History channel cool, video games where you kill them cool, a documentary on youtube cool, Inglorious basterds cool
But Nazis in a story that started out about a poor man with cancer becoming an alter ego of Heisenberg running a Meth d*** empire than employing Nazis
I don't even recall Lydia motivation or any Nazis name then to bring it back with a Netflix special
I was such a huge fan too but it went from me justifying him poisoning a child to Nazis controlling the bulk of the season after such a developed villain in Gus. I am not saying redo Gus or try to match that high but I cant have confidence in you when you do Chekovs gun all season like he gonna snap then its him killing Nazis and rushed Redemption arc
