I use melatonin almost every other night to get good sleep. Helps a lot but I don’t take it regularly because too much of it in my system all the time made me tired throughout the day but that’s just my own personal experience can’t say the same for you

if you're having a pretty hard time falling asleep, start between a 1 to 2mg dosage.
you do have to make sure you're in bed with the lights off and s*** actually trying to go to sleep. melatonin doesn't put you to sleep if you're up and about, but if you're peacefully laid in bed with your eyes shut it'll get you there for sure.

is there different kinds of melotone? and yes i do that now before i go to sleep to the fact is when i am in bed with my eyes closed trying to sleep i cant it takes a while for it to happen?
