i just googled after reading your piece, because I had no idea about the significance of a line of salt in front of a door was. didn't know about its association with warding off evil spirits, etc.

i love how it took you just 4 lines to evoke such a specific spatial feeling while simultaneously making it feel lost in time.

thanks for sharing and welcome to the club

happy to see you back murky

man this is so dark and evocative. i am absolutely in love with the blood on the pavement is the sum of what you relate with. it says so much with so little.

my mind goes to all the mindless conflicts, domestic or international. how meaningless it all is when we realize its just human beings hurting each other.

also reminds me of a quote i read in the Iliiad a long time back.

“War is young men dying and old men talking”

    beautiful.

i don't know if it was intentional, but you seemed to have summed up the entire concept of "ego death" in a few lines.

it's also very telling, by implication, that the very act of being human means that you are riddled with fatal flaws that cannot be rectified until you completely stop being "human" and go beyond that.

i love how you're always super poignant but also mad smooth with it the Engines idle sigh / Icarus just glide line flows like butter.

    brilliant as always mango

this one hits home man. being within the comfort of your home but still being boxed in by cold walls is something that sends chills down my spine because it's too real. i've felt that way too many times.

i've written so many words, letters and texts that i wanted to send people. tell them how i really felt. but its so easy to hit that trashcan icon and forget i ever had anything to say. sometimes i wish i didn't, but other times i was too scared.

thanks for sharing squilliam, that was amazing. welcome to the club

this is really really interesting. feels almost avant garde and anti-poetry in some ways (if there is such a thing). your use of hard structure breaks the flow of language and thought within, but as a whole i know there's something larger going on.

idk why, but I feel like i'm reading a doctor's private journal from world war II. something about this feels so timeless and curious.

i honestly don't have much to say because i'm still trying to wrap my head around this. i'm getting snippets and little visuals in my mind and they're all trying to harmonize. definitely going to give this one a few more reads and think about it today. this was thoroughly enjoyable.
