how niggas on a rap forum asking if rapping is artistry
Because most people who are rap fans do not understand the difference between a street rapper/rapper and an artist.
a rapper is an artist silly. their form of art is rapping

how niggas on a rap forum asking if rapping is artistry
You prolly not a nigga if you askin this question
All rappers are hip hop artists but not all hip hop artists are rappers
I think if someone emphasizes that they're a rapper they're specifically putting emphasis on their lyricism and mic skill, whereas if they call themselves an artist, they want to put focus on their hooks/songwriting/production.

I would say Future is a good example. He's not a very good rapper but I think he's a great artist.
Drake = rapper
Kendrick = artist
Jay-Z = goat rapper
Kanye = goat artist
Thank You. People on this thread are trying to put down my thread. 🤦♀️. Actually I'll put Drake in the artist category. This is why he has lasted so long because he is an artist. KANYE WEST = GREAT EXAMPLE
rapping is an art form therefore rappers are artists
It seems people do not understand what the difference between an artist and a rapper is. Somebody give me a definition.
hip-hop is art. I hate the fact that black art always gets an asterisk put by it. and then when white people co-opt it, the music suddenly becomes quality. (i.e Eminem, Elvis, Macklemore)
no need to get aggressive
And Fivio Foreign is a great example of a rapper who only fits in one category.
op made this thread cus he said street rappers aren't artists in the pooh shiesty thread lmao
