Always been garbage and started this weird trend of developers just not giving a f*** about decent enemy and combat design
The combat design is the worst area that could easily be improved upon considering they had the scripted fights before with the countering and it was amazing
I pray for you who like this series
Insult to the consumer
Ezio Trilogy and Black Flag are some of the greatest open world games ever IMO
Rogue is pretty good, as well
The rest are eh

i bought one on steam for like $5 cause it's pirates and has "Black Flag" in the title. never got around to playing it though.
I don't really have any strong feelings about the single player, but Brotherhood's multiplayer is still my favourite multiplayer experience of all time. So conceptually unique and interesting, and it sucks that I haven't discovered anything similar to it yet after all these years.

That s*** went so hard for no damn reason. Hiding in a group of NPC’s where you’re all the same player model then assassinating the person that chose wrong trying to assassinate you >>>
AC2 is goated and idc about anything else tbh
Odyssey was fun for about 2 hours
Valhalla I couldn’t get past the awful combat and traded it in the day after release
AC1 is almost unplayable these days, an interesting idea at the time, but Jesus is it bad.
AC2 - Revelations are actually really good games, Brotherhood I’d say being the best. Ezio is the goat.
AC3 I’d admit I wasn’t a huge fan of when it dropped, but replaying that game around 2019 made me appreciate how interesting of a character Connor really was. It’s a really deep story that puts the Assassins and Templars in very grey areas and tells both sides really well. The most underrated game out of the Desmond story.
Liberation f***ing sucks.
Black Flag is a phenomenal pirate game, but the connection to the overall plot of AC as a whole…is a lil of a mixed bag. Never should’ve been an AC game.
Unity…kinda sucks man. Arno isn’t a bad protagonist, but he’s more like a discount Ezio with none of the charm. The game itself has this facade of challenge throughout, and feels like the game holds your hand throughout the missions way more than the previous games. It’s got really great stuff like the fight with Bellec, but overall it was a miss for me.
Never finished Syndicate, but from what I remember it was…ok? Like Evie was kinda cool, but I couldn’t stand Jacob. The location was kind of whatever and the mission layouts just became dull. Grappling hook kinda cool tho.
After Syndicate I dropped off the series, had been meaning to play Origins for forever because I bought it and never touched it . Heard Odyssey/ Valhalla are almost overwhelming with the amount of content they have, but also on the flip side, I’ve heard most of the content is boring/whatever.
idk from what I played of AC, it’s a decent series with some dips here and there. So mid i guess lol
My opinions were the same as yours, and then I played Origins. Best AC game ever. Literally a 10/10 game.
Playing Valhalla right now, and it’s great, but I gotta force myself to finish it. The main story is like 60-80 hours long.
Like I’m 20 hours in and haven’t killed a Templar boss yet. They just got me killing these scared cowardly lords in medieval England like a barbarian.
Trash series for basically a decade but niggas swear the next one is gonna be different but never is
Its the COD stockhom syndrome @op
