What kind of tweaking do you do to your samples in alchemy?
ADSR shaping, change start position, loop, portamento (glide), LFO to the volume, the effects are all great too. You can use the MSEG envelope in a similar way as the LFO in serum, where you draw the envelope and attach parameters to it.
You can make some wonky s*** with an LFO modulating the volume.
Grab a sample, loop it, turn on portamento, play a short riff with a glide on it going up an octave or a fifth. Now attach the LFO to the volume, mess around with timing. Record this out, now try to arrange a riff with the audio. Shaping sound is fun!
808 HACK FOR LOGIC PRO:
No matter what the sample is, this is gonna amplify your 808 to next level. Here is the sauce.
First you EQ an 808, which I wont explain but you all should know.
Then you put a compressor on it with a high attack ratio so more bass information is let in, with a short release time.
Now for the sauce... Use the Amp plugin with the stock preset "Jazz Fat". Turn the reverb off, turn the treble and mids all the way down, but turn the bass as high up as you can to your taste. This instantly gives you the strongest possible bass, all for free.
This s*** makes my car rattle, which was always the goal. Now sometimes your 808 is gonna need some more tone to it so you can just Overdrive to boost that while turning the drive off.

Or just use OTT

Haven't had access to my headphones yet - I'll get back to you tonight
at this point all of this "my track looses its depth, power and juice when i export it" is a big part of why people say "hardware has that warmth" i used to struggle w this too, i still do tbh, the hard thing for me right now, is having it so turnt its a little too distorted when i play it outta vlc.
point is, i think that a combo of proper leveling paired with a soft clipper on the master channel can remedy to that. i dont really f*** with that whole ozone mastering (anymore)
-- i mention the hardware thing because most of these tape recorder ,or whatever, all have their own type of compressor/saturator. not to say that they dont have to know how to mix, its just that our daw are usually blank sheet of paper. wheras they already have color... if that makes sense
every daw adds its own "sound" cuz of the way they process the incoming audio. from the way they handle panning to level control it goes through the daws algorithm
any ideas as to how Kanye got this vocal effect?
avox duo gives something similar its a vocal doubler from the same company as autotune

Sounds fine to me - this is cool man! I'd recommend to A/B with a travis song or something. Use SPAN

Cool, yeah i was using a trav song to do reference mixing. How would you use span to reference? Look at both songs and compare peaks?

There's a bunch of YouTube videos about this, look at the peaks and where stuff is consistently hitting. It's useful for arrangement too, to drop in reverb sends, fx, etc.
Check stereo stuff too. Some phasing is ok, but if your low end is phasing/not in mono, it won't be loud.
U guys use don’t use these plugins plz do:
FabFilter Pro EQ
RC-20 Retro Color
Almost anything by Goodhertz and Soundtoys
Tal 4 Reverb
Oril River Verb
Valhalla Vintage Verb and Delay (SOLID AF)

Damn RC 20 rly reached the basement
The internal reverb serumFX uses the same algorithm as TAL Reverb
TAL Sampler is god teir as well. The pitching and saturation sounds brilliant
the free msaturator and camelcrusher are pretty much my go to saturations
Airwindows DrumSlam is essential imo. A little goes a long way
I pretty much only use Soundtoys plugins these days, my main orchestral reverb is Valhalla Room and I use Vintage Verb and Blackhole as effects

You mean it sucks? Been pretty versatile so far

No I mean it used to be a secret now everyone knows about it

blew up when producers started to show it on the deconstructed videos

Why would I need an EQ plugin when i can just use the stock plugins that work fine? I never understood that
