hadjiim doubling back on this bc its facts. i think that first line is worth unpacking though
the industry plant debate is interesting (and im working on a 4batz video for next week that's gonna talk about a lot of this) because the only time its ever really flagrant is when artists champion being independent but arent really independent, or start astroturfing this idea of a "come up" when in reality theyve been at it for a long time and are being funded by industry sources
people took the term to mean any artist that was signed, when like, if theyre not lying about it then whats the problem ya know? its a labels JOB to get an artists career poppin
i agree with all that except I dont even think its wrong to conceal it this has been done for decades, if your preaching independant or a come up then yeah its wrong cause ur misleading people on an industry that has enough misinformation already

willow's music is pretty good i love Wait A Minute and its crazy she made that at like 15 or whatever. some of her pop punk music was dope too even though it was very trendy for a short period of time

Nah the leaker said kendrick fully wrote a couple songs on dfmb and potentially more but has references for every track.
Even if it was only just references, having refs from kendrick to pull lyrics, flows and cadence from industry level production is an insane alley oop

The problem is in a CLAIRO type situation where your clearly trying to appear as a indie artist out your bedroom and thats part of your appeal and you go out ur way to make that part of your brand image and come up. same, at first i was like ehh but then i kept listening.. eventually it clicked
not saying it's a deep cerebral type listen or anything lol just sitting with the music made me like it a lot more
