Yeah, its just how studio sessions go really. People bouncing ideas off each other for every aspect

I used to record music when i was like 13 with some friends and we’d all help eachother with lines or how to finish verses. It such a natural process but everything has to he written by 1 artist according to ktt

I like die for my b**** and sound of bad habits but it's kinda crazy that kendrick pretty much wrote both of them.

But make sense knowing he had industry producers and videos with his earlier music

was DFMB really written by Kendrick

  • fun

was DFMB really written by Kendrick

There's like 5 confirmed tracks with actual snippets of, the rest is up in the air

was DFMB really written by Kendrick

    Most likely yeah

  • The melodic blue was my favorite album of 2021, I like the kid and initially I was reactionary to this nepo thing but if the drake and party tandem worked and made them money, and a lot of other artists using writers made them money, why shouldn't it work for them. And he's working with family, I can't picture a better legacy for kendrick and keem inspired his most zany flows so it's a win win , great vid

  • I’m grateful to ManMan he opened up doors

A bunk on the tour bus to come and compose

  • And ngl, it's a wild low-key flex for kendrick that he wrote die for my b****, that era was so raw for keem, it felt like something new, wish he kept Cardo around tho

I loved the video, only thing tho is I doubt he sent unsolicited beats to TDE. Probably sent beats after the green light. Talent wise it doesn’t take away anything, Hours in silence was produced by the son of the president of OVO and it ended up being one of, if not the best song on the album

The best rappers had people with them in the studio getting feedback and lines here and there. Music isnt something you do on your own

  • Ahh so this is why he's famous

I agree, writing is hard and doing that on your own for albums deemed classics means you can't just ignored niggas sharing raps, it's a hard truth But it's true, I'm certain keem knows he'll never get that respect and he doesn't like he wants it

Great video, its good to see actually informative unique topics and takes on the youtube space of hip hop discussion, I really like how you highlighted the way its always existed, good editing and i agree with it. It's cool u had the anecdote of your friend cuz it shows keem wasnt knee deep in the industry by damn. You showed a lot of stuff a lot of people arent aware of to show how much he was doing pre melodic blue. I doubt keem actually did get in just through the email theres probably more that happened. I agree with almost everything here.

Some constructive criticism to improve your video format (none of it is a big deal really) is I think you should try to get a dif type of lighting than the ring light in front of you, do it from the side or sumn, and try to EQ more bass into the sound of your mic. When you bring up examples, try to use 2 examples max. I would stop doing the zoom ins. I didnt really see the point in going into hypothesizing what the interviewer thought there.

truthfully not sure he needs it. i dont think too many younger rap fans care about stuff like that anymore

  • The difference in the examples listed in OP is as Kendrick’s cousin he can still talk about struggling before the fame while King Combs & Jaden are the children of celebrities and were born rich

I don’t think bad energy should be given to the title of industry plant or nepo baby
A lot of the most talented artists are that. Destroy lonely father was I-20, Ken knew Lil 88 since being a little kid, keem with Kendrick, lil darkie was shabazz palaces son. These environments it seems helps a lot just foster creativity and make great music, they just didn’t have to go through the bullshit of making connections in the industry like most artists had to. And that’s a blessing for them. If people like the music it stays. Same goes for people like teezo who grinder but just didn’t go as public with music till they had their behind the scenes s*** figured out, that’s what Miguel did. The negative connotation should be given to people like Rich Amiri that bot 70% of their streams lied about his real name and clearly was signed while claiming independent.

People think because you have any association to the music industry that makes them a plant when those associations while probably being helpful doesn’t guarantee you any success as a creator.
