He never pushed for an abortion, he just did what a lot of young potential dads do and freaked out while pushing the choice on her, but he never said no. In his final message when he thinks he's doomed he grows up for a second and realizes he would want a family with her.

As for the delivery, before he found out it was a cure he still felt responsible for getting it to its destination when he could have just dipped. Obviously once he found out the truth he had a personal stake in it but I mean curing the world of a zombie infection IS a pretty righteous thing lol

His actual downfall and what sets his death in motion was him reaching his arms out to help the infected girl in the RV too. Terrified of having kids, has a complex around growing up and having a family, and the thing that kills him is saying f\*\*\* it and trying to save the infected little kid
