    Leonard finally back in action

Love that he spiced up his typically sparse arrangements with some punchy instrumentation.

  • Jan 31

    Gordon had his biggest year

  • Jan 31

Joni had probably her biggest year not the hugest fan but these are so classic

  • Jan 31

Geffen masterminds The Band and Dylan reunion album/tour which was probably a crazy 1966 flashback at the time

    rip Garth

  • Jan 31

butt rock kings at it again

too much potency out of brazil as to be expected

here is some more of the traditional sounds. Mostly just samba. Lot of the older generation legends experiencing career renaissances due to overall revival and rediscovery of many types of brazilian music all over the country, both rural and urban

Cartola is a contender for best debut album of the year overall. kinda cheating since he was 66 years old and was already one of the key founding figures in samba during the early days. but this late revival era in the 70s was huge for his legacy. He was poor and working as a janitor or something when he was rediscovered by someone and brought back into the music scene. stunningly great artist

didn't realize their first single was a Buddy Hollly cover ill put a little respect on that. Geddys goofy ass voice kinda suits the early rock style.

Brass Buttons and the opening track are probably my favorites off that album. The Love Hurts cover is one of the best renditions too. Hearts on Fire, $1000 Wedding, and In My Hour of Darkness are also all great. Even the live track with him and Emmylou getting to perform Hickory Wind together is a nice moment.

Very nice album, I think Hearts on Fire might be my favorite cut from it, but there really isn't a single track that I don't like. The harmonies between him and Emmylou throughout are so beautiful. Definitely gonna go back and give GP a listen soon.

Go all the way back and start with Sweetheart Of The Rodeo and Gilded Palace Of Sin

Even International Submarine Band was great

didn't know that tidbit about dark fantasy

Gonna have to take a deep dive into Byrds discog, been aware of them my whole life but never actually sat down with any of their albums.
