Completely skipped over Roadmaster in my write up @Fella the disrespect
My boy Colin has some gems this year. This sounds like a proto How Deep Is Your Love in parts.
some blues for de soul
wish the whole album was more in the vein of this track, that slow stoned-out guitar tone is so tasty.

I thought about posting this one. Sounds almost grunge in a way.

hard
definitely the best Commodores bop Ive ever heard
So I’ve been attempting to take Queen seriously and I actually find their debut the most compelling. It doesn’t quite sound like anything they’d go on to do and it also sounds unique in its own right. Songs like The Night Comes Down and My Fairy King really stick out to me. They have a specific atmosphere they maintain. They’re not too flashy, corny, or all over the place. Other than what Aruji posted, I’d say they still have some more highlights from this year even if I don’t really care for the albums as a whole.
And Lionel isn’t singing
looking like Ohio Players got a couple heater albums this year and are gonna take the crown from War as far as best funk band thats not JB/Sly/George

what about Kiss?
I’ve never really dug deep into them, but the fact both Dinosaur Jr and The Melvins covered this says something. I planned on posting this at some point for this year anyway.

Ooooooh this a good one. I love his delivery. That little quiver. I go by album release, so this’ll be on my best of 75 playlist.
:rdjeyeroll: the song came out in May '74
some less fusion-y 1974 jazz. lot of the goats from the postbop generation still going strong. spiritual jazz movement probably in its peak still

It’s for my own personal playlists. It’s just easier to go by what Apple Music says the release date was.
The last opus of bubblegum. That classical bridge section at 3:05 is so good.
