Dumb comment, just say you want to branch out as an artist. No need to imply one genre is harder than the other.
Blame the hip hop fans and media. Yall let mediocrity(putting it very kindly) slide within the genre for a decade+ now. “Scaring the hoes”, “shit doesn’t bump in the whip” “hip hop doesn’t need to say something” etc.. now rappers are afraid to be original and innovative.
There is very little room for greatness in a genre like that. Why basically nothing has stuck this entire decade other than a few Kendrick diss records and Old Town Road lol If a lot of the greatest songs in rap history came out today the modern day fans would trash em.
“Nobody is playing Brenda’s Got a Baby irl be so fr
“ lol
The irony of the statement is that the two biggest current country stars, Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll, are failed rappers
Compared to the surface level, mediocre rapping he does, sure. Compared to rappers who have crazy pens, absolutely not.
Also this mf uses writers.
Just my opinion at the end of the day s***s not law
ngl haven’t seen you make a valid point yet you just in here yapping
Idk if I took that the wrong way^ but it depends on the rapper some niggas can do it in one take. Some niggas need to break it up and punch in etc but most of the time it’s low effort. Which low effort is a bad way of wording it but I’m just going off the thread premise lol
slick rick was punching in back in the day lol it’s not inherently low effort, niggas just not like that anymore

Not a bad take.

its harder to do country than make songs to play coming in and out of commercials during Texas A&M/Vanderbilt
Just not true.
Hip hop is a more accepting place so there is a lower barrier to entry but that doesn't mean that at high levels its any more or less difficult than any other genre.
The effort is simply in other arenas.
Country music for instance puts little to no effort in innovation whereas hip hop does
I remember folks on here were saying he was an example that mainstream hip-hop is in a great place
Come to find out he don’t even respect hip-hop as an artform
You record artist?
And you haven't experienced rappers who genuinely want to lay the best take?
Right, and they didn't have to become absorbed by the process of country artist to get to the point where they wanted to do that.
The barrier may be lower for rap but that doesn't mean that the ceiling also is lower.

Is the point you’re making meant for what I was talking about?

Not necessarily just more so to the general sentiment that hip hop artist can't possess the same amount of perfectionism that country artist do in isolation.
It's silly to just generalize hip hop as being a genre in which the artist aren't as involved.
I think it's way easier to get into but that's the nature of it as an art form.
