People who are accessible making hip hop and are perfectionist are most likely recording themselves and not at budget studios just due to the cost.

So you get more recording studios filled with turn and burn work, with people who talk more then work on music.

I guess my argument is for the genre not the majority of people making it... And I've never really thought about those as two distinct things.

but i guess it's just nothing anybody can say to make me believe that any country artist is putting more effort into their music than any other genre especially hip hop if you're looking at the ones who really do it. i'll spare you from naming them but you know who they are from kendrick to drake and kanye and inbetween. even down to the not super popular though. the isaiah rashads, smino, earl, vince, mavi, 6lack the list LITERALLY goes on.

like i saw you post examples of some takes from rappers and it's like yeah uhh... thats sada baby? i get it lol but we talking about a whole genre and it's just a very dumb hill to die on. from top to bottom, especially if we wanna talk about writing/lyricism. there's really not a genre that can rival hip hop/rap when it comes to that imo and specifically country lol like man really? to be able to consistently put out albums of 2 to 3 verses of quality writing per song is kinda wild and there's really no other genre doing it quite like that esp as far as the amount of writing and rhyming that goes into it and esp in a genre that puts so much emphasis in doing it all yourself idk.. down to storytelling to writing songs that really evoke emotion hip hop got it.
