I graduated high school at 17 and so did some people I know, and college doesn't really have a set age because many people will take a 1/2 gap year

I think you're overstating the difference in maturity especially in a 2 year age gap.
My personal opinion is if a young adult (18/19/20) could have been in college at the same time as their partner they are generally in the same stage of life.
If everyone is in college I think 18 & 22 is ok. But not 18 & 23. Etc.
But in Billies case it's completely different she was a minor so this might be derailing.

brain fully develops at 24.
once everyone turns 21/22 I think it's more normal for a bit of a small age difference but it's still weird to me

I've known so many girls in high school that dated grown adults, always thought that stuff was weird.
I remember during the thread for this people attacked me for saying tht we as a culture also gotta stop encouraging girls to not do this and people called me a victim blamer
