Like obviously the dude is sick and socially we already collectively shun people who do this but yet it also still happens because frankly ALOT of 15-17 yr old girls ACTIVELY seek out older dudes
It's a really sensitive topic because minors ultimately can't give consent and that should be the end of it. But at same time we've all known those types in high school, it's all weird all around.

If they are under the age of 18 it's the adult's job to say no.
If the adult says no, then you can talk to the kid about it. But if the adult participates they take all the blame. Because they are engaging in a behavior that is intrinsically predatory.

BUT if what you care about is s*** like this not happening then it is way more efficient for part of the cultural discourse to also include discouraging underaged teenage girls to not romanticize and seek out older men

I didn't say that they would let him. I said that it must be hard to control if she wants to keep going back to him which is what happens everytime.
Her fam seemed to be pretty hands on with her in the doc. Too much maybe, but she's a rich artist, not a regular teen.
