I've done this before and it works and I honestly don't know of a easier way but it might exist. I used shea moisture leave in so I don't think the brand matters much as long as it doesn't leave a visible white residue and it actually moisturises your hair. I personally think eco styler gel is one of the better healthier gels for your hair as it doesnt leave your hair crunchy or with white stuff when it dries.

I got a spray bottle of rose water and vitamin e oil, was thinking of adding witch hazel to it would that be damaging in anyway to my locs?

Nah. Alot of people say witch hazel is actually great for locs. I use a little bit it in my oil mixtures and to get rid of sweat after working out. Helped alot with battling build up, to the point where I barely have any.

I had a dropfade beforehand. I sponged it with the intention of getting what I had sponged twisted if that makes sense? But the lady I went to wasn't a loctician and picked all that s*** out I woulda had this style a lot faster if she didn't do that. My biggest advice is going to an actual loctician and not just a lady who does hair like me.
