I cut my hair and now currently getting waves, it's just as tedious the only difference is that conditioners make me overcurl so I have to use more shampoos instead to lay my hair.

Oil up twice a day (coconut, argan, Shea butter and grapeseed oil)
Brush for 45 mins a day and put in that durag anytime I'm not brushing and not at work

You ever try that wash & style method? If so, does it give results? I’ve seen YouTube videos but I honestly feel like youtubers be be stretching the truth sometimes.

I heard to get forks out, you should have a comb session to straighten the waves out.

Oh nah bruh , wash and styles are the truth. The results you see on the video is really what they getting. But you shouldn't depend on it ever and you should only do it once a week if you're like over 5 weeks wolfing or a 3 guard and above type thickness

Shampoos that target dandruff (ex. Jason's Shampoo Dandruff Relief, Shea Moisture Black Soap Dandruff, Trader Joe's Tea Tree, etc).

but what you really need to focus on is lifting the flakes from your scalp before you wash. If you don't, flakes tend to stick to your scalp as you shampoo and then fall out later. So try taking a comb/pick and scrubbing the flakes off your scalp prior to washing. Of course don't scrub too hard. Then when you wash the shampoo off you rinse very very thoroughly.

I swear this always happens to me but I've been growing out my hair after cutting it due to damage in April and I got ill and had to spend a lot of time in bed and my routine fell off. It's starting to dread up a bit and I favor my right side when I sleep and there's a small spot where a mini dread is kind of hanging and there's breakage and I can feel down to bed of hair and there are other breakage spots elsewhere as well.

@throwawayokay I saw in OP that you advised leave in and moisturizing 4c hair daily, do you/the thread think I should do that and just double down on the rest of the routine?

I wash weekly which includes a weekly ACV wash
Aiming to use the hair growth oil twice weekly and then up to three times weekly after a while

How often should I use the jojoba oil?

Also, have been taking Biotin, Vitamin D and a multi

yeah bro for sure do that. daily moisturizing will soften up the hair which will make it harder for the hair to lock up. when you condition/moisturize be sure to detangle your hair using your fingers. it will maintain the natural look and while preventing dreads from forming. you could use a pick if you want but it's all up to preference. i also advise you to sleep with a bonnet or du-rag. it will help protect the hair when you sleep and prevent it from locking up as well.

as far as how often you should oil i would recommend once a week thoroughly if you have mid to long hair but this is all up to preference as well. as long as your hair isn't dry you'll be good

Preciate this, but I actually want it to lock up I'm just trying to make sure it's as healthy as possible along the way. Should I still just follow this advice?

oh for locking up do not follow any of what i said. i assume you're going for freeforms ? you don't need much management for that. i'd say just let your hair grow and if some parts aren't forming how you want them to, maybe twist them manually so they can lock up and then let em rock

i would still oil to promote healthy growth but don't condition
