gotta use a safety razor, with shaving cream 😭😭😭 first time i shaved bald i ain’t have no tips, and ended up with bad razor bumps for like 3 weeks

just started my locs, how often should i moisturize my scalp ? can i mist some water on my hair too or is it bad ?

i do a few drops of jojoba oil on my scalp everyday so it doesnt dry out.

dont leave ur hair wet not dried for too long or bacteria will build up and it well smell overtime

drying my dreads is starting to become an absolute pain in the ass.
i didnt even wash it in the shower. it gets wet just off steam

1.)Hot shower/hot towel
2.) Warm water with shaving cream
3.)Safety Razor (I’m using Merkur 34c with Personna Platinums)
4.) Use Witchhazel Aloe Vera facial toner/aftershave

I do the above and it works pretty good, with and against the grain, no razor bumps.

Getting a bunch of silly ass retwists that yank your scalp so hard that you can't close your eyes will in fact make your hairline recede, but just having dreadlocks won't make that happen

@Vox I think it depends on how tight the dreads are. Like if you crochet and they're done really tight, the tension will probably cause your hairline to recede. Luckily my hairline seems unaffected, but it was one of the reasons why I cut Seen some niggas with George Costanza type hair telling me "I had dreads for 7 years"

I had to crochet because my hair texture kinda straight and I couldn't walk around looking like a bum for like 6 months in my first year of college while my dreads slowly free formed So I had to get them twisted every month or so to keep the dreads looking fresh and I'm ngl, this Tanzanian dude I had at first was doing them pretty tight
