I think I'm going to get a temp fade and fade the back... Keep growing out my hair and get the sga box braids

I’ve been trying to grow out my high-fade undercut so that I can rock cornrows with a low/mid-taper and I don’t like how rough I’m looking right now. Any advice on how to clean this up in the meantime? Would a taper look weird on this?
