Just picked up J Dilla's Donuts (33 1/3) on Amazon for a tenner. Can't wait to read it

Just concluded this, stunning read.. details nicely Dilla's life from start to short-lived finish, his relationships and ultimately his music. Beautifully breaks down and a***yses Donuts as an album, and as Dilla's final message to those who listen him, utilising music theory and philosophy throughout. Big recommend to anyone who enjoys Jay's art - only complaint would be the author/editor failed to capitalise DOOM's name

Only a hundred or so pages too, but filled with information on the greatest, cant complain

Unfuck yourself. It's short and no fat/extra padding BS. Completely different from Atomic Habits. I'll let you know what I think of "The happiness equation" once I read it and see what it's about.

Its good if u just got into dilla imo but if you went and read/watched every interview and youtube vid, site about donuts before reading, its nothing new. Was highly disappointed thinking i was gonna get exclusive info and tidbits.

not tryna be mean or shade, Just wanted to point that out for others who might want to pick up the book who are already deep into dilla.

Meh I’ve been a Dilla fan a while but perhaps I haven’t researched much into the creation of Donuts. It’s not particularly my favourite LP of JD so while I knew most of the early knowledge in the book, I certainly learnt about Donuts! I hear what you’re saying though 💯

With Dilla being such an elusive character & his life cut so short i wasn’t expecting much more from the book Myself bro

People who've read invisible monsters by Chuck Palahniuk, is there different versions of this or something? I keep seeing other readers say you're supposed to skip chapters but my edition doesn't have those prompts at the end of each chapter. It just reads like a normal book
