First book but man...ASOIAF grazes perfection. Enjoying it in reading it contemporary with Brothers Karamazov.
I ain't read a BOOK book in years
Idk if I should be ashamed or not, doesn't seem like my thing
What do you guys consider a "big book".
I gave a friend a book around 400 pages and she called it big. I always thought big books were like 700 and up.

If you want to get technical, font size matters and you’d probably want to look at the word count to be more specific.
But I’d say similar to what you have said — anywhere from around 600-900 pages is a big book. 1000+ is a grand novel.

400-500 is normal. 600+ is big

My attention span is shot so anything 500 pages and up
Bought some books yesterday rather basic but tbh I never read them lol. Trying to get back into reading again I have a stack I got to get through. I bought “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The Art of War” basic I know but never read them before surprisingly. Also been eyeing this book called “Chaos” got a long ass title but it it by Tom O’Neill. It’s about Manson and the CIA sounded interesting.
Going to go on a little re-read era briefly soon. I find myself going through ups and downs layered in ups and downs layered in the tides going in and out and within all of this I repeat the same mistakes just manifested in some different way. I think re-reading a few keys books will really help me at this time.
Humans by Brandon Stanton is phenomenal all last year I was super into investigating human experiences, picked it up today haven’t put it down for 5 hours
Used to read so much nowadays I just read magazines, last book I remember reading was slapstick by Vonnegut
I know it's not a conventional "book" but I just finished reading Watchmen and I have to say this is some of the best works of fiction I have read in a long time.
Why did nobody tell me comics could go this hard?
Also I just picked up a copy of Never Let Me Go. I've never really read a lot of Ishiguro but I finished reading Klara and The Sun the other day and enjoyed it and I heard this is his best novel so I guess I'd give it a chance.
Finished first act of dune little dry but mesmerized by the universe so far, characters little boring not gonna lie. feel like its about to pick up in a crazy way soon

Yes I remember I also thought the first part was a bit dry, but I couldn't put down the rest of the book
Swerve me? The path to my fixed purpose is laid with iron rails, whereon my soul is grooved to run. Over unsounded gorges, through the rifled hearts of mountains, under torrents’ beds, unerringly I rush! Naught’s an obstacle, naught’s an angle to the iron way!
I read daily about stuff, weekly learn something new but it's not no actual book never been that for years
