Having a hard time with the cover alone
s*** was plain short but was such a slog to get through, finale was non-sense and protagonist complained for the whole book
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Putting it down at 41%
I'm sorry y'all this s*** repetitive like a mf
not familiar with him but a friend of mine told me it's the worst book of his

Wild thing is it won a Pulitzer lmao
Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
I've been 48% into the book since 2019
Beloved by Toni Morrison
Just got busy and never picked it up again
The spy who came in from the Cold by John Le Carré
Might end up finishing (i'm at 50%) but s*** is currently boring my socks off, even though it's short.
just started blood meridian, his prose can be definitely off with the use of punctuation but by doing a chapter per day I think I'll be able to finish it
Did you keet going with it?
As long as it saddens me as the op of the author thread, this one was overwhelming. Gonna pause it and try going on later.
Characters, patronyms were hard to trace and I couldn't understand what I was reading. After 150 pages plot barely moved (even if I remember Karamazov being similar and lately the book evolving to be basically a masterpiece.)
I haven't finished the A Song of Ice and Fire books yet. Read the first 3 back to back but got burnt out so never finished (or caught up at least)

best fantasy media ever, you should keep going
I am STILL chipping away at this book called Chaos (with a longer title than just that) it is really good tho. I’ll have to re read it again some day cause it is dense with info. Highly recommend it even though i’m not even done with it.

Will go back to it sometime. Got a lot of books in my TBR. Also thinking of picking up Suttree

Not until the final book is actually out

out or not the series is a masterpiece fam
like 35% done with Moby D*** and
just not capturing me at all. prose is clunky, characters uninteresting, and the story slow and hard to follow with all the random info thrown in. I'll read a 15 minute chapter and be like uhhh what just happened lol
might be a book I have to revisit twenty years down the line unless one of y'all can convince me otherwise

Life is short. Move onto something else that interests you
Life is unpredictable. You don't know where you're gonna be in 20

Been thinking about reading Blood Meridian soon, what made you pause the book for so long?
James Joyce - The Dead
Stopped after around 30 pages, was really boring and seemed like such an average story. I'm probably wrong on it as its regarded as Joyces best short storie.

By the time I got back to reading it, I felt like I had to restart the whole book since I last read it a while ago, and I have a whole pile on my TBR list rn.
It's a really good book but it needs one to dedicate some time to it. You can easily get lost just as much as you can get lost in it.

Word, I got nothing but time right now

Hate when I'm reading a book and I can't follow wtf is going on or when there are too many characters. Demons was a painful read because that so glad I dropped it.
