Bruno Mars is a singer, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist and performer from Hawaii. He is known for his stage performances, showmanship and for performing in a wide range of musical styles, including pop, R&B, funk, soul, reggae, disco and rock. He plays drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, piano, ukulele, congas and more.
Born in Honolulu from a Filipina mother and a New Yorker father from the Puerto Rican diaspora, Bruno comes from a musical family which exposed him to a diverse mix of music genres, including first and foremost rock and roll, and later reggae, hip hop and R&B. His mother was both a singer and a dancer, and his father performed Little Richard's music, which inspired him as a young child. His uncle was an Elvis Presley impersonator, and also encouraged three-year-old Bruno to perform songs on stage by Elvis and Michael Jackson. At the age of four, Bruno began performing five days a week with his family's band, The Love Notes, and became known in Hawaii for his impersonation of Elvis Presley.
When he was a child he had a small version of a drum set, guitar, piano, and some percussion and learned to play the instruments. The time Bruno spent impersonating Elvis had a major impact on his musical evolution and performing techniques. He later began playing guitar after being inspired by Jimi Hendrix. When he attended high school, he sang in a group called The School Boys, who did several shows including opening for his father's new band, performing songs by The Isley Brothers and The Temptations. While in high school, he became well known in Hawaiian entertainment, becoming the opening gig for a huge magic show and impersonating Michael Jackson in a celebrity-impersonators show, making $75 per performance.
In 2003, shortly after graduating from high school at the age of 17, Bruno moved to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career. After years working as a songwriter and producer, he kicked off his solo career in 2010 with Nothin’ On You.
Bruno’s debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, is predominantly pop and reggae pop. Many of the songs on the album reflect "feel-good", carefree and optimistic sentiments. His subsequent release, Unorthodox Jukebox is infused with different influences including disco, rock, reggae and soul, as well as balladry. Lyrically, the album is different from the former, addressing traditional notions of romance, male chauvinism and sexuality. Bruno's third album, 24K Magic, was significantly influenced by R&B, funk and new jack swing, as he intended to create an album on which he could capture the sound of 90s R&B that he listened and danced to during his childhood. Lyrically, the album involves themes of money, romance and sex. An Evening with Silk Sonic is the debut studio album by duo Silk Sonic, composed of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. The album is rooted in R&B, soul, funk and hip hop. It explores themes of seduction, romance, reconciliation and materialism.

One of probably only ~5 real performers left, practically flawless discography, voice of an angel.
We’re lucky to have him but the militia of morons on this site will try to tell you otherwise

Ok, so Album 4 What do you guys think?
24K Magic was completely different from what I was expecting at the time, so I don’t know what to expect now. I really thought album 3 would be expanding the sound of Money Make Her Smile or something like that. 💀 He was in the studio with Skrillex and other guys. Then, we got a R&B album (not complaining though)
He said recently in a Japanese interview that “Japan inspires him and possibly inspires the next album”
He just did a collab with Fender for his first signature guitar. Maybe I’m delusional but this might indicate what direction he’s going for the next era? He always played guitar, but “guitarist” has never been his image. I would love for him to go on a more rock influenced direction, something like Miguel’s “Wildheart”.
He has been playing salsa a lot recently in the events of his rum brand. I wonder if we might get some of that, inspired by his dad.
I need him on some INXS s***
BRUNO Mars is finally gearing up towards his big solo comeback.
I’ve learned the US star is close to completing work on a new album, which will be his first individual project since 2016’s 24K Magic.
Bruno has been in the studio laying down tracks for several months and is planning his most ambitious tour to show off his new tunes to the world next year.
A music insider said: “Bruno has taken some time away to develop a new look and sound following the success of his last few projects.
“He is close to completing the new record and is in early talks with Live Nation to map out a deal which will see him tour the album next year and into 2025.
“Bruno wants it to include the biggest concerts he has ever done and is keen to mount a large-scale multi-dimensional live show.”
While it has been six years since the Uptown Funk singer put out a solo record, he did form a duo with Anderson Paak for the release of the album An Evening With Silk Sonic, which earned them four Grammy Awards and saw them beat ABBA to be named International Group Of The Year at last year’s Brit Awards.
Given the quality of the releases so far in his career, I’m expecting very big things indeed.

If he’s touring in 2024, then the album might be released in the beginning of the year…
Reunited with Phil and Ari, his collaborators from his first two albums
“Older leaks sugest his next album could be more mainstream sound with rock influences.”

he would kill that
24K Magic really is a classic album, I always find myself listening to it a lot around Thanksgiving, fits the time of year really well
