Ok, so he made Unorthodox Jukebox in 2012 cause he didnā€™t like his image and sound from the first album and the way he was perceived in general, and also wanted to showcase his versatility.

Then, he made 24K Magic in 2015-16 cause he really wanted to make a R&B album and also insert dancing into his performances and "have fun on stage".

[Then, thereā€™s Silk Sonic which was just him and Anderson making music during the pandemic]

So what does he want to do now? What moves him artistically in 2023?

I, for one, need him to stay tf away from R&B and funk. Sorry. Not only because he already did these genres, but for certain other reasons tooā€¦

Seeing other peopleā€™s comments on twitter and it seems like the natural movement would be him really going into a rock-influenced direction. Returning to something he experimented before (Locked Out of Heaven, Gorilla) and expanding that into new things.

Just like 24K Magic (and Silk Sonic) was an expansion from Uptown Funk aesthetically, thematically, lyrically... But itā€™s been 9 years now and it's time to end this era.

I read that he approached Dā€™Mile after listening to Lucky Dayeā€™s 2019 album which, I guess, means that was the direction he would go with the fourth album. Then, Silk Sonic happened in 2020.

Glad he used this sound and aesthetic for SS so we can move on to something new now šŸ˜

Bruno Mars is set to open his very own jazz bar. Located centrally on Bellagio's casino floor, in the former Lily Bar & Lounge space, The Pinky Ring will open in early 2024.

    Heā€™s on his Fenty era

I cannot find the video anywhere, itā€™s lost media at this point, but Bruno performed Wavinā€™ Flag on Jimmy Kimmel in February 2009, playing keyboards and singing backing vocals for Kā€™naan

As the year changes to 2024, expect more music from Fauntleroy. That doesnā€™t mean he hasnā€™t continued lending his pen game to other artists. Beyond saying heā€™s working with two superstars, one of them is Bruno Mars. Whatever those two are cooking up will be the first time theyā€™ve worked together since the 2016 Billboard chart topper and Grammy Album of the Year winner 24K Magic. [he worked with Silk Sonic too] So far, Fauntleroy has a total of four golden gramophone wins.
ā€œI could have a whole nother f***ing hour talking about how much I learned working with Bruno Mars,ā€ he explained. ā€œThis * is a genius.ā€

Bruno working with James Fauntleroy and Dā€™Mile for album 4. Another R&B album. Itā€™s over.

I have so much love for James, it's crazy. Maybe one of my all time favorite writers.
