Eh....Sales and streams are a poor metric to measure if one fell off.
Nas had a whole new prime this decade without a single number 1 album.
And Drake can boast the same exact thing: highest grossing rap tour and still outstreams the competition.
When people talk about Ye falling off, it's more so about quality of music and not his sales/streams.
Quality is still there. Not my fault people don’t have taste.
Lol well damn
Recently found a picture I have never seen of me wearing Lugz and Fubu when I was a 90 pound white boy in like '98 that was a short phase thankfully lol
Someone isn’t fallen off till you stop checking out their work on release day
He fell of after Pablo to me then

Nooo, not the Fubu
That's tuff

Nah. Those Vultures albums ain't it save for some songs.
I do enjoy Donda almost as much as TLOP though.
Jashanti served its purpose but Irv should've had Ja diversify s*** during that early 2000's run.
Ja literally dropped the same album 3 times in a row from 2000-2002. Then, when he tried to tap into "90's Ja" in 2003, it was too late and 50 turned him into a punchline.

I blame getting 36 Chambers and RZA Hits early on for making almost everything else seem very lame. How I'm gonna listen to Jashanti when Ghostfary J. Blige were right there.
He’s fallen off yes but to say donda is garbage devoid of substance is just lying

Donda has more substance pound for pound than Graduation if you really think about it.
Obviously, Grad's a classic and easily a better album but I wonder if people who talk about these falloffs are actually going off of the actual music instead of just peddling a narrative.
I said my own hot take on how I enjoy Donda as much as TLOP and, if Kanye was able to make the Part 2's bonus tracks as he intended and removed Tell The Vision, I'd easily rank Donda over TLOP.

I think TLOP was the start of his downfall and I’d easily rank donda over it

I personally only don't rank Donda over it because I feel Donda was more bloated while TLOP at least condensed certain songs into interludes and skits to make the album flow much better.
But I feel if Donda wasn't screwed over by the Part 2's not being bonuses and if Life Of The Party with Andre replaced Tell The Vision, I'd choose Donda over TLOP easily.
TLOP is good and maybe people are right saying it's his "last great album" but I personally feel that it gets a bit overhyped due to nostalgia and being the last glimpse of pre-MAGA/Hospitalization Kanye.
I wouldn't even say TLOP is a tier above KSG personally but it's still a great album nonetheless.
I think everyone has subjective takes on what it means to be “fallen off” so it’s pretty pointless
Jesus Is Born is a very underrated album Ye had a part in.
Makes you realize that JIK should've leaned into the actual Gospel element more.

Vulture series sucks donkey ass

I feel you.
I think it serves its purpose but doing it for 3 straight albums was a bad move and had him pigeonholed in that category.
By the time Ja tried to get back to hardcore raps in 2003, it was too late and the album flopped and was trash.
In all honesty, I hear Ja's music often in a lot of functions where throwback songs get played. Jashanti stood the test of time. It just overshadowed the other aspects of Ja's music.

every hour is the only good song on jesus is king for that reason
Did you know Jay, DMX, and Ja Rule were supposed to form a supergroup at one point?
It never transpired but I thought it was a neat concept. Probably would've only lasted a hot minute though.
Woulda probably just been one album but it would’ve been one cool album tbh
After all the s*** he did and said Carnival went #1 and one of the biggest pop artists rn flipped another 2024 Kanye song into another hit
!https://youtu.be/FTIvFD7TCVg?si=m4JcLXlV9prMTTZNAnd he just ran up $7M in China the other day too
Actually both songs just sampled the original instrumental
Yep. It was called "Murder Inc."
How are dmx glasses sitting like that im so confused
Also, I really do think that the Vultures albums would've been better received combined as one condensed album.
With the right tracklist and sequencing, it could've been Cruel Summer 2.0 essentially as a holdover album full of bangers to keep people's attention until the next solo Ye album.
1. Back To Me
2. Do It
3. Burn
4. Fuk Sumn
5. Carnival
6. Beg Forgiveness
7. Good
8. King
9. Slide
10. Field Trip
11. 530(with the fixed verse)
12. Forever Rolling
13. River
14. Lifestyle
15. Take Off Your Dress
Instead, the albums were essentially promoted as Kanye's "comeback" albums with Ty vocals and, of course, it didn't live up to the hype.
But I really do think if there was a singular Vultures album that was essentially meant to be a "side quest" before the real album like when Cole dropped Might Delete Later, it would be received better.
I think it woulda been better if they stuck with vultures songs instead of using Kanye solo songs and old songs
