If I tell you an artist is top tier level because of consistent big sales, consistent big stream numbers domestically and globally, consistent longevity, and consistent big hits for years....

Do you guys think Bobby from KTT2 telling me “he has no classics” really trumps the numbers?

Do you think there is absolutely no correlation between big numbers and quality of music?

I think there are definitely some albums that aren’t classics despite selling well. If you only go by numbers then every Eminem album after 2010 is a classic, for example.

Numbers are meaningless but classics are entirely subjective so the whole argument is dumb

I think having widespread influence/cultural impact is more important than numbers.
