Yeah again I’m talking about artist careers not specific projects
Not every project an artist is going to release over a decade span for example is gonna be a 10/10 to everyone
But when it’s all said and done, don’t the numbers mean more than what this or that guy thinks is a classic?

Again I think people are thinking I’m talking about an individual project when I’m alluding to an artists entire career
I feel it’s more plausible to check on what he was able to do statistically to place him here or there then to place him based on what this or that guy thinks is a “classic”
Big statistics always lead to impact, genre shifts, etc.

To answer your real question OP yes drake music is mid and doesn’t stand up to real goats like MJ, the Beatles, prince, Stevie wonder, miles Davis, etc. All he has is numbers

What it really means is the drake brand is on its A game of appealing to the most diverse range of demographics without necessarily being off-putting to anyone
This requires a lot of thinking and strategy. What you're left with is diluted music, and that's rarely able to be classic in the hip hop genre

I’m asking if being able to do what you said in the first half of your post for example for a long time puts an artist at a top tier level or if that’s trumped because this or that guy thinks he doesn’t have a “classic”

Dude you are off the f***ing bean. U With Me? alone is better than 96% of rappers’ and LL Cool J’s entire respective careers. And that’s off one of his weakest albums. I’m not even a Drake stan but you’re just a hater if you really think that or truly know nothing about music
