Never in tears man tf
Are you referring to drake?
I’m asking generally about any artist
stop the cap. we all know why you made this thread.
Not everyone care about numbers brah. Some care about the art.
Who’s saying not to care about the art?
I’m saying what holds higher weight and speaks to the art being good
Project consistently putting up big numbers all over the world let’s say or what this or that person thinks is a “classic”

views sold 1.1m and its trash.
High sales doesn’t equal quality either.
Again not what I’m saying
I’m talking about a career of an artist being top tier or not
Not an individual project
views sold 1.1m and its trash.
So you saying “it’s trash” holds higher weight than the entire world listening to it until this day?
Regular ppl dont care about numbers
So do regular people care about what this or that guy thinks is a “classic”?
Lmao huh
Drake fans are most successful people I know
Tough not to be successful when an idol of yours is the most successful
Please don’t ever say “get some p****” again haha
Sound like a virgin loser
Is this a copypasta bro
So do regular people care about what this or that guy thinks is a “classic”?
Of course not
I think the only people that should care about numbers are the people involved in the making of the music, and the label. However I do believe that commercial longevity is a plausible factor
I mean most mainstream classics have gone on to be platinum etc, no non mainstream classic is going to do numbers or be known to most of the public
Of course not
I’m just saying when weighing an artists entire career it seems more plausible to look at numbers to place him in certain tiers than to look at what this or that guy thinks is a classic. Whatever that word even means nowadays.
Does that make sense?
Great music > numbers
Yes objectively great music exists get over it
To answer your real question OP yes drake music is mid and doesn’t stand up to real goats like MJ, the Beatles, prince, Stevie wonder, miles Davis, etc. All he has is numbers

No one from todays gen stands up to anyone you listed if im being real

Good post
Again I think people are thinking I’m talking about an individual project when I’m alluding to an artists entire career
I feel it’s more plausible to check on what he was able to do statistically to place him here or there then to place him based on what this or that guy thinks is a “classic”
Big statistics always lead to impact, genre shifts, etc.
