are you serious?

I am reading a book right now that takes place in Alaska in late 70s and the author describes this place like it would take 200 years for it to develop
But no I’m curious how is life in Alaska?

Its great. Winters are a little tough but you get used to them. Summers are spectacular. Anchorage has a population of 300,000 were not that small.
Respect bro. But I hate when people say “there’s someone out there having it way worse than you” because it just downplays my the struggle I am going through. There’s also people that are doing a lot better than I am too if you wanna see it that way
But I get your point. What’s frustrating is that there is no f***ing timeline to when all this will end and that’s what’s depressing me
Yeah I hear you, I also hate when people use that because everyone have their own struggles and just because someone has it worse doesn’t mean I can’t have my own issues and personal struggles that are less worthy to me. I guess what I mean is if you’re healthy, have food to eat and place to sleep that’s already one hell of a blessing, there are people in different countries on lockdown without jobs or any unemployment benefits stressing how they going to survive or feed themselves.
Regarding timeline, I’ll say we have to wait until May ends or somewhere in beginning of June to know what are the plans overall. I believe things will start to open up slowly in phases with a lot of restrictions. But one thing you can count on is that summer is not going to be the same, meaning there’s not going to be any activities involving a lot of people in the same place. Well, at least in nyc for sure.
Almost hitting 30
only 3 years left
30 is the prime of your life lol idk why you think you're running out of time. I'm excited for 30
Hmm idk I’m in MO but I’m already getting my checks I’m at my 4th week with it. I don’t think amazon is able to cut me off at this point. Maybe can file a appeal.
Yea I did it for fam reasons but I’m legit making more by not going to work
I’ve been on unemployment since late March and yes you can lose your unemployment if you decline the job. Your employer simply reports that to DOL and when you claim weekly benefits there’s a question asking if you have been offered a job and if you lie and say no, then you’re s*** gets terminated.

And how old are you rn?

What’s the demographics like there? Is mostly white folks and natives? Do you see other ethnicities

Bro I don’t even care about activities and concerts and s***. I just want to move out of my house, have a steady income, and hang with a few on the weekends you know and just do whatever the f*** I want to do

A lot of natives of course but other than that it's fairly mixed. Basically a melting pot.

27 I read your post and about being quarantined with your parents but s*** man it could be a lot worse than what you have going on

i guess. What state do you live in?

Hmm I took a leave of absence in beginning of April and told them I was ill

I believe you can move right now, a lot of people moving. Finding a steady job will be an issue, not possible but will definitely take a lot of effort.
I mean like I said you’re not special, literally everyone is feeling like that. You just have to wait a little longer to see what’s the next move regarding opening up and moving forward.

See that’s different, you didn’t get fired. If you’re on unemployment and your job calls you to work and you decline then you don’t get the benefits anymore since there a job available but you’re refusing to accept it.
Holy f***ing s***

Okay I get that but what about them firing me for attendance wouldn’t I still be okay, they never contacted me and I’ve never answered any calls so they can’t confirm if I’m sick or not.
Amazon updated their policy for leave of absence being covid related so they just taking upt for attendance for people that stay home, they don’t really know if I’m sick or not.

Honestly I’m not an expert in this field so I don’t really have an answer to that. Try looking at your state’s unemployment FAQ website.
Or try asking these questions on Reddit’s r/unemployment
"The Trump administration projects about 3,000 daily deaths by early June.
As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from the coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750.
The projections, based on government modeling pulled together in chart form by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, forecast about 200,000 new cases each day by the end of the month, up from about 25,000 cases now.
The numbers underscore a sobering reality: While the United States has been hunkered down for the past seven weeks, not much has changed. And the reopening to the economy will make matters worse."
