the school system rewards logical thinking and the ability to memorize above anything else. creativity is hard to test/judge and is seen as useless in mainstream jobs.
creative jobs are very high risk and high reward. only a couple people “really” make it, the rest is constantly struggling to keep above water, and most have to give up their dreams.
at the same time, creativity is idolized. but in this type of environment, its a curse. id like to enjoy mindless work, but i always have to break my environment up over and over again with no outlet for my energy.
this s*** is wrong cuz. the arts are just as important. science is what propels us forward, but artists are the people that inspire scientists. how many people working on the moon landing were reading jules verne and watched flash gordon?

Ppl don't need too many artists in their daily life. Obviously top artists, musicians, streamers etc. etc. are prospering. We don't need every artist to prosper, that doesnt work this way, other fields bring us further as society. Healthcare workers, agricultural workers, services etc. Why do we need to recognize every artist and give them a lot of money for what?
