If I remember right Oblivion was in development during the ps2/xbox era and was announced during that era but was eventually revealed to be a 360 title before 360 was even out.
Imo only reason its coming out for ps4/x1 period is they would be leaving way too much money on the table as that's what everyone has still.
But nexgen was definitely meant to be the priority and I think the reason the game looks so much more ambitious than what's currently available speaks to that.
Sorry for the rant though lol I'm a geek for that type of stuff sometimes

Nov 25, 2020·1 replyHandsome BachelorCant wait for reviews, but I'm also keeping my expectations in check. I think it's fair to say the game will do well and be well received, but it's not going to be perfect for everyone.
- City wont be as immersive and dense as SOME want
- Story might be a very slow burn for some, which is intentional as this is an RPG.
- There will still inevitably be complaints about no third person on foot action
I'm just ready to finally get immersed in this beautiful city and take my sweet time and enjoy what the game does offer instead of being upset about any unrealistic expectations being met.
People who are still complaining about no third person need to just deal with it tbh. If they can’t handle first person then just don’t play the game. That’s like being pissed that Resident Evil 7 isn’t third person or Spider-Man doesn’t have a first person mode.

i dont think that's a valid argument because first person spiderman makes no sense and re7 was built for first person. they could add a third person mode if they really wanted to. they just wanna set themselves apart from their competition as much as possible

witcher 3 was pretty rough when it came out and they patched it a couple times. i think because they've been delaying it constantly, it'll be optimized for the consoles it's coming out for, but i think ps5 taking its time for 2021 just means that they have to optimize it for that console.
a third person mode, customizable vehicles, and having a locked 30 and a lower res 60 mode would be what id like to see. locked 30 still looks just fine, ff7, death stranding, persona, and spiderman are all locked at 30 and they flow perfectly fine

CDPR have said time and time again that they designed the game to be first person so the player can feel truly immersed so what you said for RE7 can be said for CP2077 as well. The game was built from the ground up as a first person so a 3rd person mechanic would force them to change level and map design, they'd have to tweak camera work a lot and it would just be a strain that wouldn't do much for them. How many games that do 1st and 3rd person have good combat? This is a game with a lot of indoor sections and tight corners and stuff, adjusting that to 3rd person would require way too much work and redesigning too many things

Game was meant for next gen and they were essentially forced to optimize it for the old hardware to appease fans and make more money.
Hopefully it doesn't unfairly affect the reviews though.

The PS5 will be able to play the PS4 version, and it will run better on it. But the official PS5 version which will run a lot better and with bette graphics won’t come out till next year, when it comes out and if you have the PS4 version you can upgrade for free tho
