After playing The Last of Us II, where the game was super fluid and responsive, the gameplay for this & even driving mechanics look super rigid and arcadey

Still excited and impressed to see what they’ve done with the world but with all the time and delay you’d think the gameplay would look a bit more smooth

    I really hope I’m wrong

Dont expect any game coming soon to be anywhere near the same level as tlou2...

Thats how I like to keep thinking, just so I dont get disappointed

oh so they’re the one’s who made witcher? explains alot

i‘m not into futuristic games at all, but this game makes it look good tbh

however, i’m not a big fan of the FP perspective so i‘m just gonna watch a walkthrough of it

hope yall enjoy this regardless though

    appreciate your response

    No worries brother

In all honesty, I’m not the biggest fan of this genre either — I much prefer historical backdrops to futuristic stuff. Grounded stuff (even with fantasy) > future tech IMO.

But because TW3 is basically a top 3 game for me OAT, I am eagerly awaiting Cyberpunk. I don’t think it’ll come close to TW3 (for me personally), but I still think we’ll get a 8.5/10 level game.

@Campari - yeah, I don’t think this game will be anywhere near as smooth as TLOU2, or GOW. If anything I think it’ll be comparable to RDR2 in that the controls are annoyingly janky for a game so good

  • Jul 10, 2020

Does look stiff hope it runs well

  • Jul 10, 2020

I was gonna get it on pc ofc but i dont know if the 3000 series dropping this year so maybe ps5 instead

  • Jul 10, 2020

Don’t really care too much for the stiffness

Happens in GTA a lot too

As long as it runs smooth then won’t really think about it

Yes I am aware. My concern isn’t the environment, little details, cinematics, motion capture or even graphics, it’s just the basic fundamentals of a AAA game which is fluidity and smoothness, regardless of what engine or the theme of the game is, a big budget game should have those nailed

I may pick up the game in November and be totally wrong or feel that what they’ve done works great so fingers crossed

Watched a video of someone who played the game who was told by a developer that they’re still tweaking driving and shooting and they’re aware it looks/feels a little off.

Also, have to remember the game is an RPG with a Elder Scrolls like style to a lot of its skills (i.e. the more you shoot with a certain gun, the better you get with said gun, same with driving).

All the footage they showed was just from the prologue as well, so you have almost nothing unlocked skill wise except for the most basic of basics.

    like what

  • Jul 11, 2020

I feel like this game is gonna be like control for me. A 9 or 8 game but at the same time a game I’ll always remember and turn into a 10

    The 4chan s***?

Given how 4chan is partially responsible for the reaction to The Last of Us 2 (by straight up making s*** up when those spoilers leaked), if they’re saying something negative about the game I’d be privy to take it with a significant grain of salt.

    Here’s a thread on it:

The Cyberpunk 2077 twitter account is pretty cringe tbh.

They made an awful ass EA diss yesterday, then followed it up with a post that got a bunch of transphobic motherfuckers crawling out of the woodwork.

Their social media presence has been trash for this game tbh.

Really hoping this immature s*** isn’t reflective in the quality of the game, because with this genre you have a lot of room to explore really progressive, complex topics (which they continually claim to have done, but the gameplay we’ve seen most of it seems to be really crass dialogue at this point).

Hopefully the full game actually does delve into trans-humanism and such, and not just “CORPORATIONS SUCK!”, especially since it’s coming from a developer that is literally a cornerstone of their country’s economy

Considering the game was built with first person in mind, including the level design, I guarantee you a third person mod is gonna look like ass.

Everyone interested in this game should pick up Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided. Two of my favs of the last couple of gens and both are great. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game borrows a lot of what they accomplished game play and story wise.
