This game was announced as an open world freedom rpg but its pretty clearly become just a futuristic gta clone. Ill still play it but my hype is way low :[

    ?

I think he means 98% of the missions seem like driving and shooting

As opposed to exploring an interesting RPG world filled with character choices, random activities, dialogue trees, emphasis on exploration, etc which is what he had hoped for

Yes I am aware. My concern isn’t the environment, little details, cinematics, motion capture or even graphics, it’s just the basic fundamentals of a AAA game which is fluidity and smoothness, regardless of what engine or the theme of the game is, a big budget game should have those nailed

I may pick up the game in November and be totally wrong or feel that what they’ve done works great so fingers crossed

Lol I've been stating this as my first complaint since I saw the first gameplay

The animations do NOT look good at ALL

It’s a 50+ hour AAA RPG that has to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, because CDPR is LITERALLY a cornerstone of their country’s economy.

So, of course they’re going to be focusing on the most accessible, marketable aspects of the game. The combat systems and such are also far more in depth than the ones in The Witcher, so it goes without saying that they’re going to present those front and center.

Also, there are entire gameplay mechanics we haven’t seen yet. For example, we haven’t even seen cyberspace, which is supposed to be a whole thing.

They also confirmed that you can go through the entire game without killing anyone, so pretty much all of these combat systems that are in the game are borderline optional in a lot of respects, you can talk your way out of situations without even having to engage with the combat.

Every person who played the game already said they were blown away with the choices, options, and world building. It's an RPG

Of course they're hyping the game up with guns and s***in the trailers cause that attracts people

  • They addressed some of the criticism I had with the last gameplay video and the guns look much more weighty and the animations are better. There's actual impact now. Definitely a good sign moving forward

All the people with access to the game said it was a legit RPG and choices had major impact on the story. There were groups of reviewers that had completely different experiences based on their choices

it's a RPG, your gun and your gun skills will get better as you put more skill points into it.
