Yeah he is a tough one. Maybe watch other people beat him? Might give you an idea. I wouldnt rely on cheesing it wont feel very satisfying to beat him.
I tried that to with demon of hatred and umbrella + whistle and regretted it on my first playthrough. Also you wont actually get any better at the boss like that.
You and the poster above are right, I just can't stand getting through genichiro (which is easy but if he manages to get a hit in that means I gotta waste a gourd) then getting through his first phase and then getting stomped. Like if I could go straight into the fight I'd be more into it even after dying but f*** it's 5+ minutes each time to get back to where I'm stuck
I'm thinking about starting a new run bc I've been stuck on him for a couple days and am so bored of booting it up just for that fight. Maybe I should go clear out all the optional s*** I haven't done

You wouldnt believe it but I actually did something similar first time around but for me it was demon of hatred.
I got stuck on one safe file with him. Made a new game and beated him the first time there (with cheesing). So I felt bad about it and beat him on the other the normal way.
Later then I went to Ishin and got stuck there for a while cause he is hard but the moment I defeated him I pulled over to the other file and basically won at the first attempt
Felt nice cause I got the true and normal ending on one day

Did you have more trouble on Isshin than any of the other bosses? Bc man I had some walls that took a day or two max but I can't make any progress on him, feel like I learned nothing from the rest of the game even tho I focused on parrying. Maybe I'm not blocking enough. Idek honestly lol. Guess I'll check out some vids
Replaying ds1 it’s the perfect balance of difficulty, game design, and world building. The enemies are tough but not cheese tough like some of the bosses in ds3
To everyone who plays ds3 on pc, play the Cinders mod if you havent, high quality s***, adds tons of content and makes the map interconnected

This s*** definitely getting a lawsuit
Some of those sound effects and animations are straight out ripped from Soulsborne games
I've been playing ds1 on switch, just got all the way to where you get the dragon covenant and realized I have to run all the way back up since I can't fast travel. F*** this, I think I quit. Going back to DS3.
On that note, I started a new DS3 character as a mage. But everything I've been reading basically says magic sucks ass until you're a high level. Should I just do a hybrid build instead?

Oh damn I never went there til I had the bonfire teleports unlocked. There's not a shortcut to get out? That sucks.
Magic generally feels like ass in DS3. I would never not play melee.

It´s Okay To Cry
This blew my mind when i found it, love when from hides important lore bits like this, it makes finding them that more iconic and memorable

It’s worth spending the hour to get back up and finish DS1, best game in the series

I ended up doing that. I haven't played it much in the last few days but I'll prob pick it up again to tomorrow, right now I'm basically right after where you get the lordvessel. Would this be a good time to jump into the dlc?

Nice. I would suggest finishing everything in the main game then hitting the dlc right before the final boss.
