I see you but something is off, it feels like some s*** you’d hear in a movie, it just doesn’t stand out imo

This is a hot take and i’m prepared for the hate i’mma get but i feel like Fromsoft make mid and generic music. I can count on one hand how many tracks i remember from these games and i wouldn’t even have to use my whole hand. Idk what it is but most of their stuff just sounds like generic medieval s*** generic orchestral music, even Sekiro ( which is one of my favorite games of all time and a 10/10 imo ) has forgettable music. Anyone else feel this way?

I can kind of see where you're coming from, if I was to guess it'd be that combat can be so unpredictable and slow compared to most games that the soundtrack's designed to act as more of a tone bed, once recognisable melodies start popping up there's a risk the player could get distracted

Miyazaki's extremely deliberate with every aspect of his games so there's probably a reason for it that makes sense to him

Personal preference but Sekiro is my number 1

One of the best games of all time

I usually get tired of games fast and don’t really replay games much, but there are certain games that are just so good you can boot the game up and have fun every single time. I’ve played the game over 10 times now, s*** is just fun. God tier combat, incredible art design, amazing level design and incredible bosses. Some of the bosses feel like you’re playing against real players.

Okay damn amazing thank you. Entirely in love and obsessed with bloodbourne atm so I think I’ll go sekiro next

    Yo, this kinda makes sense

They probably don’t want you to get distracted by the music, makes sense tbh.

This pretty long article gives some great insight into how hands-on Miyazaki is with everything, it doesn't talk much about music specifically, but it's amazing just how much of the appeal of Soulsborne games comes from the tastes of one guy, he really functions like a movie director

Damn sekiro and the souls games still basically full price on PSN. They know their worth but tf they been out for years. Is this a common thing with Japanese game developers?

for summer/holiday sales they tend to go down to $15-25 on steam. dont know if its the same with PSN.

Think I only played up to Bell Gargoyles back in 2015. Seen my friend and streamers play some of the rest though, like Ornstein and Smough

I beat DS3 a long time ago (2017) but I never got the DLC

Is it a standalone DLC? I don't have access to the main game rn since I'm locked out of the account that purchased it

Hmm not 100% sure but iirc you have to talk a npc in cathedral of the deep to get into the DLC so I don’t think it’s standalone unfortunately
