Being real is being yourself, if you really a nerd and u embrace that u real. But a lot of white rap fans think being real is killing people or something lnao

Any nigga can kill a man, that don't make you a real nigga. Real is responsibility. Real is taking care of your motherfucking family. Real is God, nigga

And honestly there is no definition

Just be yourself as cliche as that sounds. Someone who not worried about tryna be the perfect rap character

And that hasn’t been every rapper since 78 lmao

What makes Cole's morals different from say a Lil Durk morals my g?

See I don't think 'gangster rappers' are any less real than any 'conscious rappers' are less fake.

This is not a shot at Cole either. That's just a common name being brought up in this thread of being "real."

Im not as familiar with Durk as I am with Cole but I dont think they have different morals or anything. I say that about Cole because he’s a superstar rapper but still very humble and down to earth and doesnt get involved in stupid s***.

Can studio gangsters still be real

    Dat nigga Ace

Being real to me is just being comfortable in who you are and having certain morals and respect. To me Cole seems like the realest nigga in rap

If that’s what you basing it on wouldn’t Kendrick be the realest rapper ?

    so he's fake for that?

yes bro, his s*** sound like Hillary Clinton was working as his creative director, no cap.

Not that political music is inherently bad or that the Democrat party as a whole sucks, but face it, the DNC establishment lame asl. And tbh based on the s*** he put on that last N.E.R.D. album, he def woulda voted hillary over bernie in the primaries. It sucks seeing the same mf who made lapdance (super anti-establishment anti-politician song) becoming a democrat-establishment shill n dropping s*** like Secret Life of Tigers.

The issue isn't that Pharrell talks abt the world in his songs, or that he's far left or whatever (imo he isn't far left enough), its more how much he panders 2 the Hillary crowd and acts "woke" or whatever. Bruh literally disowned In My Mind because it wasn't socially conscious enough for his ass

Bruh still the Goat for his early career tho idc. N.E.R.D. first 3 albums, early Neptunes era (Jay-Z, Clipse, Snoop, etc.), + In My Mind (out of my mind also) solidify Skateboard P as a goat
