You shouldn’t feel bad, it’s not like you decided to shut down your places of work lol

They never should have shut anything down or provided extra funds through unemployment, they set a bad precedent both ways and completely f***ed it all up

    hot pancakes

I’ve been working this whole time (not an essential worker just working from home)

And my gf had to get unemployment cause her job had to close, and now she is making almost as much as me for just chilling at home relaxing all day

    I’m pretty jealous tbh lol

Yup im honestly jealous of everyone that’s at home relaxing making more than me but it is what it is

I cant quit because i need something i can rely on, that unemployment check will disappear sooner or later, its not a stable income

So essential employees can’t just quit and file for unemployment?

    Damn that’s slavery.

Low-key I think they can. I don't think the IRS is even auditing s*** like that atm. But the rides over at the end of July. Then it'll be regular unemployment and I don't think that's enough to get by tbh.

Like I said I'm p sure. There's people working and filing for unemployment. There's people that don't even live here filing for unemployment. I think someone that's unemployed and was working for a while had a good chance of claiming that money.

You know after a month or two stuck at home not working, it takes a toll on your mental health. I honestly would of preferred to work if I had a choice.

I don’t even feel relaxed, more so stressed not knowing what’s going to happen in the following months. Benefits expiring this month and both of my jobs are not opening.

I want to move out but I don’t have stability right now and other personal stuff.

One one hand it’s good to finally have a break while still getting paid but on other hand it gets stressful after few months and having a stable job would of been much better.

they already started cracking down on false claims. I know of someone that owes 3900 for it

    I mean s*** I ain't start corona

  • Jul 2, 2020

Been essential working in a biomedical field since day 1, making more than minimum wage but still barely out of college type salary

I admit that I feel contempt towards the folks that's been relaxing at home, safe from the virus, eating junk food, binging Netflix, making TikTok videos and then have the audacity to be complaining about "qUaRaNtInE"

I can sympathize for the full and part-time students, they really got shafted hard because of this and this is hardly a vacation for them when they are missing their graduations, memorable college experiences, instruction that can only happen in a lab such as Chemistry, and critical classes that they need to finish in a certain semester so they can graduate. People were applying for graduation, undergrad and graduate school admissions, internships, their first jobs out of college

But young people who were working unskilled min. wage positions like at Movie theater, etc. that are now suddenly making TOO much money to sit around at home, KNOW this. Several real life friends have admitted this to me
    it

The flip side is that yes after the Pandemic they will have to search for a new job again. Meanwhile any gap on your resume can just be blamed on Coronavirus and that excuse will work for a lot of people who weren't even affected by the virus

A false claim is one thing. But filing for unemployment when you're not working because you quit a job is something else entirely. I think you could get away with it tbh.

tempted to try this tbh. My hours got cut since this started and I’m making like 325 a week

If your hours got cut you can apply for partial unemployment. I suggest you do it if you were working like 40 hours or plus and now you're doing like say 20 or something.
