No, I'm not a fan of an argument that if music dope then it's ok to behave like an a******, and I don't think that people should even give artists who act like this attention.
It's hard for me to give as strong example as with CB or R Kelly because I don't listen their music.
I like Paramore but after their bassist told that on paper he was a session musician even after however many years, it deminished the value of the band for me, and I don't listen to them as often anymore. Before that Hayley was accused of basically setting up the contract as she is the solo artist, and in the end the cracks really have started to come out.
Similar to The Smiths.
Although there's no way I'm not gonna listen to them lol.

yep, i think anyone can make "good music" (as its ultimately subjective) but when you hear something that you dont like from behind the curtain it can break the illusion and make you reconsider what the music actually means to you
usually I do, but yeah like you there are just some people I cant get past. R Kelly and other weirdos with sexual assault cases.
Still get down with X tho
Not really, I have to like the artist as a person too.
I can overlook certain aspects of their personality or history if I like them well enough
