It def happened gradually but I can see what you mean, Bad & Boujee made it official
Yea the overall numbers happened slowly but that was THE moment
Bad and Boujee was the moment that Hip Hop took over from pop
Trap Queen and Black Beetles?
K Pop is never gonna be the top genre
Same way reggaeton and Latin music won’t ever be the top genre
They’ll be huge and maybe the biggest worldwide even but in the US they’re never gonna get to that level
I think rap is staying at the top or becoming a second to Pop. Rap is too varied to fall off imo
Trap Queen and Black Beetles?
Trap Queen maybe but that’s still a really really melody driven song
Black Beatles was after Bad and Boujee right?
I hate talking about Pop theory cause it’s all stupid (yet true), but the genre will probably need to reinvent itself once again to “reclaim” that #1 spot
Once K-pop idols start singing in english exclusive it's over
not if it sounds anything like this garbage
Is not lasting by the end of 2022 sorry
They keep hyping it as the future of music it's not the future of s*** lol just like PC it's just gonna be cult status
Rap artists are still the most streamed by a long shot. Drake, YB and Lil Baby have more streams than every popstar combined this year hip-hop not going anywhere
only person that can save pop music is the weeknd
If Drake somehow went full pop, he could save it
Trap Queen maybe but that’s still a really really melody driven song
Black Beatles was after Bad and Boujee right?
No. Black Beetles took down Closer in 2016 and Bad and Boujee was next year in 2017. If you don't count Trap Queen then Black Beetles did the bigger blow to pop. Bad and Boujee lost #1 to Shape Of You so it definitely didn't kill pop.

I don’t think its the future of music but it’s honestly not THAT bad. A lot of it is unlistenable, but the better hyperpop artists are pretty decent

and thank god for that
I think Drake is to thank for keeping hip-hop on top along with himself so it's not going anywhere until he retires.
Hyperpop probs
Hyperpop already played out, gecs and sophie were the only ones doing the sound well and we lost sophie and gecs are MIA.

those last 3 singles came and went and CLB hype is dead so that time is coming soon
