It’s not a big thing - people are gently guiding you out the door telling you you’re wrong on this one. The same level of adamance you have in understanding that the push is “forced” is the same level of adamance that people have trying to tell you this is just good post-project release marketing.
I’ve provided you examples of other major artists who’ve had the same marketing strategy, and your response was (unproven) claims that artists were climbing out the woodwork calling it the best project to drop this year. Beyond a few reactionary tweets, do you have evidence to back the fact that this is anything other than good post-project release marketing, or are you grappling with the fact that gasp you’re late to discover her and how music marketing works?
You aight Real
She didnt jst come out of no where i been seeing her music around for like 3 years she getting huge cause tiktok and camp flagnaw performance went viral on there.
reading thru the thread like and
at the very same time.
Alligator Bites Never Heal out now
Definitely doesn't feel organic. She's been doing all these performances to campaign for Grammys.
huh
it debuted #12 on bilboard
doechii debuted #124
Y'all got y'all minds f***ed up
Like does an artists rise to fame happening “organically” or not genuinely affect how you enjoy the music?
most y’all don’t even check out new artists without any recognition from a publication or a co-sign so who even cares
leave plant threads on KTT1 please
niggas getting defensive about this like it matters, she’s obviously talented, so it’s no dirt on her to a get a genuine push
Ultimately when it comes to Doechii two things can be true.
Yes, she did drop a good project. Yes, there is obviously a machine behind her that is going above and beyond with her promo, to a level that can definitely be seen as forcing her down people's throats.
I promise y'all, it's okay to admit when an artist you like gets an inorganic push that catapults them to star level despite the catalog of projects not truly warranting it. We saw it with HER, and we saw it with Chance with that fake ass "I'm an independent artist!" s***.

Buddy I been listening to Doechii since Spooky Coochie late 2019
peep how nobody on this site was ever asking whether ice spice was a plant either right?
the crackers of this site saw doechii existing and their ancestors came out @CliCity
there wasn’t much plant talk around Doja either
Knew she was special when I first heard this
Like does an artists rise to fame happening “organically” or not genuinely affect how you enjoy the music?
Depends on what the general consensus tells them to think
there wasn’t much plant talk around Doja either
This is also false. There were people tryna call her a plant, but that was started by bitter women jealous she was getting a lot of attention off Moo cause niggas was thirsting for her.
And to be f***ing honest if the industry is pushing "plants" like her then good! Need to hurry up and get some more of them out
It's organic in the way that she has a lot of talent and she checks every box a popular rapper should check. TDE has been developing her for years and they just truly unleashed her this year. Yeah they are using industry connections and their reputation to uplift her and put her in the spotlight but she deserves it
Plenty of people questioned Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter’s status as industry plants btw
most pop stars are manufactured and pushed, it’s pop
you’re probably not gonna become a household name straight up organically esp. in the streaming era
