I created my own playlist of just the best songs and versions between the original and deluxe and it's still 20 songs on there
there's not as much "filler" as some would like to say imo
The filler argument never made sense to me. Folks either just didn't like those tracks (which is fine) or are just lazy as hell lol

thats what I'm saying, all these are top tier Ye songs.
i think so
y do u think it might not b
I mean Guilt Trip/Send It Up/Bound 2 is kind of a hot mess sequencing wise
The rest is cohesive though
Overrated, doesn't touch anything from TLOP or earlier.
Good album, but not anywhere near the top of his discog
It's easily better than TLOP
It’s on par imo
I like Donda a lot, it’s a good album. It just doesn’t hit the same to me as TLOP. It’s still a much better album than most can put out, but something is just off about it compared to his earlier projects.
I'm glad it restored the feeling for a lot of people and it is very impressive musically, but it lacks the magic of the albums that came before it, even ye and JIK.
Come to Life alone has more magic than Ye & Jik combined
If Donda was shortened to its best 10-13 tracks it would be inches away from prime Ye level
If Donda was shortened to its best 10-13 tracks it would be inches away from prime Ye level
also this, too many fillers
Donda is a cool collection of songs with some timeless standouts (come to life is so f***ing beautiful) but the lack of cohesion keeps it from feeling like a classic Ye album. Too many features, not enough rapping from Ye, no incredibly interesting lyrical content.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great project with some amazing tracks. But it doesn’t hold a candle to TLOP (at least Ye was really rapping - and you’re telling me Ultralight Beam, FSMH, Famous, Feedback, Real Friends, FML, wolves, NMPILA, 30 Hours and Saint Pablo aren’t higher highs?! Cmon).
Donda is better than Ye (which wasn’t bad) and JIK but to me it’s not on par with any of his other albums. Comparing to Graduation is laughable. It’s on the same level as KSG in my eyes - very good but not a classic.
To be making music like Donda at 44 is so impressive though
