It's a great album. It's just too bloated. And kinda messy like TLOP. I like the message and vibe of Donda more than TLOP, which was a bit more concise tho. After this much time, i would say, solo albums ranking:

    MBDTF
    CD
    LR
    Yeezus / 808s
    Grad

    Donda
    TLOP

    ye / JiK

The first 6 being classics. The 2nd category being great albums. And the last category being average projects

Come to Life alone has more magic than Ye & Jik combined

    Not true but incredible song

Its definitely bloated, and not very cohesive, but it doesnt bother me to much

To me, this is the kanye album where I can just grab nearly any track and enjoy it. Its not as impressive of a complete listen like his other albums, but i think the replay value and the versatility of it are top tier

  • La Flama Blanca

Almost a year later and I’m still shocked at how good this album is, and how incredible that era was

We got some of the best tracks of his post-mbdtf career. The visuals and performances were some of the best of his career. It shattered nearly every streaming record in the book. I’ve probably revisited this album more than any Kanye release since Yeezus.

Show some respect for the album that put Kanye back in the drivers seat of the culture

    respectable ranking

  • DIKALISM

It's only inferior to Yeezus, 808's and MBDTF because the full thing isn't as cohesive.

But its at the same level as Pablo, Graduation, Dropout etc.

Kanye entered the new 20's with a classic.

Probably the best take i’ve seen on this site in a long time regarding Ye’s music.

Good ranking. I personally have Donda better than Grad and LR over CD but I think this is the objective ranking

    Damn this a hard explanation

  • Mar 18, 2022

Definitely a top 5 Ye album and certainly his greatest artistic achievement since TLOP. He was truly possessed to do something great.

  • Mar 18, 2022

    Such a good album
To have around 2 hours of material, a lot of it still sounding unfinished or recorded with an iPhone, and all the songs sounding so good, is a testament to Kanye's craft
What's crazy is music clearly is not his main focus anymore and he's a billionaire but somehow he still manages to be incredibly creative and innovative when it comes to it

  • Mar 18, 2022

    Love this album too much

  • Mar 18, 2022

    Bottom 3 Ye album

There are some really great ideas on it, but I think it's WAY too bloated and I personally don't enjoy a lot of songs on it. If he cut it down to like 12-13 tracks I think there could have been a case for it being elite tier

  • Mar 18, 2022

It’s better then ye, JIK and D2….. but that’s not saying much lmao

Overrated, doesn't touch anything from TLOP or earlier.

Good album, but not anywhere near the top of his discog

How do people think this is better than TLOP

    It’s a 30 song mess

If Kanye cut it down to 15 and fleshed out those 15 songs out more, Donda would be a f***in amazing album

But as it stands now, it’s just another pointlessly 30 track album to try and get streams

So many songs on donda are ruined by mid as rappers

Kanye use to make rappers bring their A game if you wanted to be on the next kanye album

But now he lets anyone on the album and let them have trash ass verses

    The quality control ain’t there

    The perfectionist kanye ain’t there

Kanye use to reinvent himself with every album and every album was an instant masterpiece

TLOP was Kanye’s last masterpiece and last good album

It differs at times for me too. Sometimes its LR over CD for me too. But atm TCD slightly better

In the beginning i thought Donda better than Grad too, but Grad very concise and almost no misses
