Need to move on to the next gen fr. With Uub, Goten, Trunks, Pan, Bulla and even further extending to Cabba, Kale, and Caulifa they have plenty to work with

Would be really cool if they continued into baby and shadow dragon sagas and give us ss4

I really hope they repurpose SSJ4 and give it to Broly. I’m really enjoying how everyone is going down a different lineage of transformations it’s really refreshing

Dragonball gonna be around for decades like Pokémon. They’re gonna have so many spin offs and off shoots I’m sure

Lots of fans are hoping for that due to him being able to harness the power of a great ape in human form, id love to see it. Feel like the super manga still has a lot to cover due to Frieza leveling up and we still haven’t met uub yet

GT has already been stated that its own continuity. Has nothing to do with the main story anymore.

GT got everyone confused. The super Saiyan form period is already suppose to be the great ape power in human form. That's why we get that montage of Goku transforming into a ape and then back into a human form when he first became SSJ1. It was to show Goku containing the rage and becoming a baby again before awakening SSJ. This is why a tail is no longer needed by those that can go SSJ1
I always found the way to get SSJ4 dumb. You need a tail and blutz wave to become a golden ape and then gain reasoning to contain great ape power. It felt contrived and redundant with the original SSJ form. The design is dope, but to get it was extra dumb.
Broly is probably going to get his own version of SSJ with god Ki. Toriyama said years ago that it wouldn't be anymore new SSJ forms outside of the god Ki forms. SSB is the last new SSJ Form and that's SSJ1 with God Ki.

On my rewatch of all things Dragon Ball and I’m currently on the Garlic Jr. Arc. Other than the fun stuff with Kuririn and his girlfriend Maron—it’s a slog to get through and in terms of continuity makes no sense. I like all the cutaways to what Vegeta was doing in space, but so much of the main conflict is dull. Most filler in Dragon Ball I like because it fleshes out the world and characters, but this actively doesn’t work with the broader story for the most part. It’s like a long sequel to the first movie. Only really sitting through it for completions sake and because Maron and Gohan’s Dragon friend show up in the early Cell Arc—so might as well get their introductions out of the way. You can kind of head canon that all the time shenanigans with Trunks messed with the continuity if you really wanna make this fit in.

are you finding the parts adapted from the manga more enjoyable?

It depends. Toriyama has a really fast paced writing style that fits the flow of his brilliant paneling work, but the anime gives more time to let things breath and give weight to moments. All the anime additions to the Sayian arc I really loved because they made the main training period feel significant and there was good character growth for Gohan. I even like the journey to Namek in the Frieza arc because it actually feels like a space adventure now with little stops along the way. People s*** on the Bulma filler all throughout that arc but it at least gives her something to do and is pretty amusing honestly. The padded out fight with Frieza goes way too far but it does make it feel like an epic climax. The Garlic Jr. stuff mostly falls flat. It’s decent background noise. The actual Cell arc filler is way better. It actually develops Bulma and Vegeta’s relationship which is totally jarring and weird in the original manga.

It's five and below everywhere in my state. I'm going to check this out.

You don't need to watch Garlic Jr arc at all. It's straight filler and has nothing to do with the series. It was just created so the manga could get further and that's probably why you feel this way. The cell saga has better filler. I also would advise you to just watch Dragon Ball Kai tbh. It is closer to the manga with no filler.

My theory is, Gohans new form and Broly is going to have something to do with SSJ4

I’m well aware. This is a rewatch as I’ve stated multiple times. I don’t like Kai because I enjoy most of the filler and don’t like the jarring traced over animation that often pops up in it. If I wanted it to be identical to the manga then I’d just read the manga, which I have before.
Edit: Reading this back and this sounds way more rude in tone than I intended. Sorry.

Yeah, adaptation shouldn't necessarily be 1:1 of the manga.
If I ever got a re-watch of the anime think the og appeals me more, will avoid the less important fillers tho. Also there are just 38 episodes, thought they were far more.
