Did you like the Moro arc or Granolah arc more?

I’ve been going back through all of Dragon Ball but in Japanese for the first time. The early stuff is still my favorite, but I do enjoy the insane escalation of the later material. Great thing about the filler in the anime is the way they flesh out the downtime and fill in the gaps between major time jumps. You get a better sense of Toriyama’s world. I don’t like Super as much as some people, but Toyotarou does seem to be improving as an artist and storyteller. I will catch up with the new arcs once I’m done getting through the OG, Z, and even GT. Currently on the 22nd Tenka-Ichi Budōkai arc.

I found the new characters a bit more interesting in that arc, I really liked Granolah himself and the ending with the whole “who really the strongest in the universe” was dope

Yeahhhhhh recently went back to GT and people s*** on Super, but GT might have been worst and that's because the story writers just didn't know what to do with the characters. Baby arc the best arc and that s*** take place 20 episodes into the show.

I still hope they pull a Shadow Dragon Balls Arc in Super tbh. They have been abused in the last arcs by negative desires, if they fix the execution it got crazy potential.

The potential for an arc like that is good if they write it right. The Shadow Dragon arc in GT made no sense. It was full of plot holes and plot conveniences. The best fight is Nouva Shenron vs Goku. The Syn Shenron fight is so dumb. Then they made the other dragons monster of the week fights.

I think a better arc for this is what Dragon Ball Heroes did with the evil kai's and them corrupting fighters from different timelines with evil dragon balls.

I like a lot of the ideas in GT. I think the ending episode is pretty perfect.

GT is just boring and poorly written with no direction.

It’s short enough that I don’t mind rewatching it. Never saw it in Japanese so that should be interesting. I like that all of the arcs are basically like the series confronting its history. It’s a little messy cap on everything. I think Super is overall a better continuation of the manga, but GT was weirdly fitting for the anime at the time. It’s sort of melancholy seeing everybody so old. Dragon Ball one of the only Shonen concerned with the passage of time. The main orchestral theme always makes me sad.
