They white washed a show with that movie completely my god what a steaming pile of crap

Also By white washing what I mean is that they imposed their arrogance because they thought they knew better than the creator who was a Japanese man. A mix of white supremacy through American arrogance. 🤮

And that was the least of its problems

Movie had an asian director and it was written by two asian men plus a black man aswell.

I'd argue The Last Airbender is worse

I don't think white washing film and TV media is really that bad. I mean they take an IP and make a white version of it--not much different, really, than The Wiz or taking an IP or character and making a black version of it.

There's tons of anime fan art of black versions of original Japanese characters

Aside from like, Roshi & Krillin (maybe a few others), nobody was actually Japanese in DBZ.

Goku & the Saiyan fighters were fkn aliens. Bulma wasnt asian, neither was her mom or dad i think.

    Idk it’s all mixed up.

true the fact that they didnt get a real saiyan to play goku is typical hollywood whitewashing

  • Mar 7, 2021

the cast wasn’t really white washed

all the major characters from the show were played by asian actors if i remember right

gohan, chi chi, bulma, yamcha, mai idk about piccolo

but goku being white almost makes it a white saviour type of story i guess?

story is white washed as well

honestly id like to see someone try again at a live action dbz

especially if they focused on translating the anime style to live action/maybe even do characters like piccolo and buu closer to akira battle angel esque graphics

like make their hair pointy and s*** lmao but without it being cheesy

    never even saw this tho

It's gonna look cheesy with real people. I think DBZ should stay animated or cgi.

But back in the day (like early 00s) there use to be rumors that Leonardo Di Caprio was gonna play Trunks. And Vegata was the dude from that TV show "Monk" or some s***. Bill Goldberg was Nappa.

    fan fiction ofcourse

Always thought the fight scenes in Man of Steel is exactly what a DBZ movie should look like

  • Mar 7, 2021

yeah whole movie was a "power in the wrong hands" type situation
