Those singles should've been chart topping hits with longevity but they had no cultural impact. Drake could push the songs but there's no point in pushing a song if it's not accepted by the public. You can't force a song and that's the philosophy that I believe Drake operates by. Drake just doesn't have the 2018 sauce this year.

the thing is that election results are not going to be finalized on election day. mail in ballots have weeks to arrive and be counted after 11/3.... so that means for those weeks it will likely dominate many peoples' attention and the news cycles. then you fade into black friday / thanksgiving / christmas season and it's just a bad time to release an album any time after 10/23. if it's not out by 10/23 it won't be out until the new year. bet.
