You can replace Jay-Z' name with literally any artist in the entire history, and the result would be the same. No artist has more hits and classics than Drake.
Jay Z been getting radio play spanning FOUR decades so whether he has/doesn’t have more “hits” than Drake doesn’t mean he isn’t a legend in his on right
A pop star having more hits than a rapper isnt really a shock
Its just sad people keep talking about 'hits' all the time instead of talking about quality of song instead

Classics?? Lol. Let’s keep it to hits please.
I love when old heads ( can’t think of a better term lol) act like the past was more accurate if a song was a hit or not when radio was the dominant reason it was one and ignore how radio used to be blatant with payola lol.

Jay DEFINITELY has more classics than jay.... as do plenty of other artists
drake stans really are crazy
Wayno’s point is that you can’t really say that as a 24 year old who was in elementary school when that first Hov run ended
We weren’t outside and you can’t really just say Drake got more hits because he broke all these records and s*** in a streaming era where u just gotta click around vs. hov who had hits that made the tunnel shake and probably had a musical presence on the streets of NY from 97-98 till at least a few years ago right before Bobby generation took over
Y’all live and die by charts and numbers and headlines lol Drake and Hov is a weird comparison because Drake can’t do coke rap (that isn’t a dry snitch on someone from his entourage) and Hov don’t sing and didn’t have post trap production to be able to kinda phone flows in
That's not his point. Wayno isnt intelligent when it comes to jay z
Exactly. It was a different system back then.
Most singles didnt chart unless it was an official single pushed to stores and radio. Usually 3 to 5 songs per album.
This is even different from the iTunes era where every song was able to be purchased individually.
Streaming makes it to where every song on the album can chart if you are popular and have momentum, which will inflate the # of hits make it to BB by design.
Some Drake stans just dont want to accept that but it's a very important factor when making generational comparisons today.
Yea I've never heard Jay Z on the radio unless it was that Jermaine Dupri song or Big Pimpin
If you didnt hear Tom Ford or Story of OJ on radio you didnt have it on a rap station lol.
Niggas in here just throwing out what Jigga My Nigga or Can I Get A or any of those numerous pre Blueprint records when we were in our infant years did in the Tunnel because girls like dancehall beats
This is why people don't like newer hip hop fans y'all just d***ride whatevers popping for the sake of it without actually giving a f*** about the culture or its history lol

I almost shed a tear to this post
Thank you
Drake has had more hits than Jay Z since before the streaming era and it's not close. More top 10 hits, more top 20 hits and more top 40 hits, along with more radio hits.
Since some of you want to use the streaming era to take away from Drake's ridiculous dominance
Obviously bruh
After the album drops drake gon be the artist with the most top 10 hits of all time
Krazy but true

Drake has more hits than Wayne? really?

IYRTITL is the most illegally downloaded project across of all time across all genres. Thank Me Later, Take Care and Nothing Was the Same leaked days/weeks before they dropped.

Which you again are making direct comparisons in situations where you can't really make a direct one.
Drake by design is a different artist than Jay Z. Drake's versatility and persona makes it easier for him to chart with White/Mainstream audiences than Jay, which is typically Top 40 territory.
You really cant make a truly equal comparison to them that is fair. All things considered Drake should be more successful by nature.
Kanye, maybe Andre 3000 are the only other superstar artists before Drake that had similar levels of versatility, had longevity and had an adjacent persona of being that non gangsta Unicorn in Rap.
Boomers rewriting history pretending JAY Z has hits
Gen Z here, Jay Z has a bunch of hits, not as much as Drake but still
Obviously bruh

All of this matters in context because Jay Z has a 24 year professional rap career, while Drake is barely 11 years in and he's already outdone Jay Z in every single metric of commercial success. 10 more years of Drake doing this and the gap will be too wide for anyone to bring up these sort of silly debates. Drake is the greatest and most consistent hitmaker in hip-hop history and it's been that way since the last decade.
