Nigga dropped two classics last year
If 2022 didn’t happen I might agree but even then I might not because Views sound more like a classic every time I revisit it

What are some albums outside of rap that you would consider classic
Drake fans liberals/dems and Kendrick fans are conservatives/republicans
Niggas like me don’t align with any party, I be on my own s*** lol
That has nothing to do with this thread but when I see the debates that’s what it reminds me of
What are some albums outside of rap that you would consider classic
Hmmm too many to name we gotta narrow it down some
Give me a genre and a time period to focus on lol

Shiiit I can’t even really think on the spot like that
I love so much music man
Some of my fav non rap albums would be all Stevie classic period albums, Marvin here my dear, I love 70s music in general so I can spend a lot of time just on that
I love 60s psychedelic rock, 80s rnb and pop, 90s rnb, Indie rock from the 2000s like Grizzly bear mgmt etc lol
I really don’t feel like listing out all the albums I like lol is there a purpose for this question?

Yes
Because I’m trying to gauge how you think Honestly Nevermind and Her Loss are classic albums that are on par with truly well-regarded rap albums (2001, MBDTF, illmatic) that are considered classic outside of KTT & r/Drizzy, especially when HN & HL aren’t even as good as Drake’s other albums, like Nothing Was The Same…
I have such a huge problem with music discourse on the internet.
Like you actually think HONESTLY NEVERMIND is a classic album that will be remembered next to…
MJ’s Thriller?
Marvin Gaye’s What Going On?
The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds?
Purple Rain by Prince?
Disintegration by The Cure?

This is what I’m saying
There’s nothing wrong with liking any of these albums, Drake doesn’t make garbage music. But people ITT really tryna contort and destroy the meaning of the word “classic” to argue that s*** like Views and Her Loss belong in that category
Honestly, Nevermind was one of my favorite albums of 2022 but never once did I ever think of the word classic to describe it
A classic is a very rare thing, most artists have maybe 3/4 at MOST. These dudes in here tryna say that every single album this guy releases that they enjoy is a classic when that’s just ridiculous

Thank you for confirming I’m not crazy
More Life was great, but almost every album/tape he's dropped besides that since IYRTITL has been forgettable.
I'm not saying Drake doesn't still have great songs, he just hasn't had an objectively great project in a decade
did the future collab album come out before or after that because THAT is a true classic.
Yes

All those albums are great and I've heard them all many times but having an elitist mentality abut them only holds music back it doesn't push it forward
Those albums were great for THEIR time
These albums are great for THIS time and will be remembered accordingly
You ain't the only one who went back and listened to Prince discog lmao

There is a difference between music you enjoy as personal favorite and a classic album.
And by no means will albums like Her Loss ever been revered in the way you think it will be
Enjoyable album, yes.
Classic? Nope.
Sales ain't everything but CONSISTENT numbers don't lie
Sure you can explain away a flash in the pan artist or 1 hit wonder as an industry plant etc but people have been gravitating to this mans music for over a decade now
Pretty much all of it will be "remembered" just as well as goats of the past
The people who love Drake's music now (and that's a lot of people) aren't just going to suddenly catch amnesia 20 years from now lol
People out here making memories and living with this music
Just because some of ya'll can't get into it for some reason or your favorite music critic nerd doesn't get it doesn't make it any less impactful for those who do get it. Again, a lot of people get it and will hold it in high regard forever.

Alright man I'm not about to try to convince you lol
A lot of people disagree with you tho my guy
Your opinion doesn't invalidate my opinion no matter how many "critically acclaimed" albums you try to compare s*** to
